Bac Ninh Province promotes farm produce sales through e-commerce platforms

Bac Ninh currently has 167 OCOP products rated 3-star and 4-star

On their websites, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Bac Ninh Center for Agriculture Promotion and Hi-tech Agricultural Development regularly post information and images to introduce production facilities, outstanding agricultural products, and One Commune One Product (OCOP) items of the province.

At the same time, fairs and exhibitions are organized to promote products through digital and e-commerce platforms. Specialized training courses on the application of information technology in agricultural production are also held, with a focus on digital transformation, traceability of farm products, and guiding farmers on how to utilize e-commerce platforms and sell products online.

In addition, the province has developed the “Bac Ninh E-commerce Platform” application (http://www.ecombacninh.vn) for mobile devices, making it easier for producers to list their products and for consumers to access and shop.

A standout example is the “Cho Bac Ninh” e-commerce platform, which not only facilitates direct transactions between businesses and residents, but also introduces craft village products, OCOP products, and locally produced goods, enabling them to reach customers both within and outside the province.

Notable features of the application include its convenience and suitability for all users, enabling them to post buy/sell listings, read news, explore product locations, and discover local tourism and cultural highlights.

Notably, the application ensures absolute user security through electronic identification, offering safe same-day delivery services. Products have clearly defined origins, meet quality and food safety standards, and are labeled with QR codes for traceability. The platform creates dedicated storefronts for organizations, such as youth and women’s unions, farmers, and small- and medium-sized enterprises. It connects the supply chains of OCOP products from all 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

The Bac Ninh Department of Industry and Trade has recently provided data, market analysis, and price forecasts for various types of agricultural products across districts, towns, and cities. It has also supplied information to support the promotion and sale of agricultural products in these areas. Furthermore, the department has assisted e-commerce platforms in implementing trade promotion procedures to expand export markets.

Statistics show that Bac Ninh currently has 167 OCOP products rated 3-star and 4-star. Among them, 20 percent of OCOP producers have websites to showcase their products; 100 percent of OCOP production facilities have bank accounts for electronic transactions; and 50 percent of OCOP producers record production and sales logs using electronic notebooks on computers./.
