Vietnamese biotech products competitive on world market: Prof., Dr. Nguyen Van Nam

A “veteran” in fields of biotechnology, alternative medicine

With more than 20 years of experience working at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Prof., Dr. Nguyen Van Nam has become a “veteran” in the fields of biotechnology, and alternative medicine. Many of his research findings have been applied in practice, bringing great efficiency and value. He always thinks of bringing prestigious and quality products to all people, contributing to improving the health and the values of life.

In his career, Prof., Dr. Nguyen Van Nam has conducted many studies on biotechnology in various fields, such as oil and gas, agriculture, environment, health care, etc. Particularly, with the increase in the number of cancer patients in Vietnam, he has promoted research and production of Beta glucan, an active ingredient that helps strengthen the immune system and effectively destroy cancer cells.

With the upgrade of facilities and management system, products containing pure Beta 1,3/1,6-D-Glucan, such as ISA, ISALIQUID, BGPLUS, IMUGLUCAN, GLUCANKID... have been produced and introduced to the market, bringing hope to millions of people, especially cancer patients.

Bui Thi Kim Chi, born in 1976 in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, is one of the millions of cancer patients who have miraculously recovered thanks to the four-year treatment regimen recommended by Prof., Dr. Nguyen Van Nam, specifically using ISA, BGPLUS and IMUGLUCAN products of BCC Pharma (a member of BCC Group).

Prof., Dr. Nguyen Van Nam said 2024 is a special and honorable year for him, as in mid-June, he was awarded the title of Honorary Academician of Alternative Medicine and Honorary Professor of Biology by the International American University; then in mid-July, he was honored to receive the Le Huu Trac Award - one of the most prestigious awards in the field of medicine and health in Vietnam.

With the desire to improve the effectiveness of treatment, Prof., Dr. Nam and his colleagues have been researching to find solutions based on the harmonious combination of Eastern and Western medicine schools, which assists the treatment of the disease at its source.

“In the coming time, we will keep doing research on biotechnology and life, alternative medicine, and innovate approaches in a sustainable way. With the desire to make more contributions to these areas, we are aiming to export biotechnology to the US, the EU, China... I believe that Vietnamese biotechnology products will be competitive in these large markets,” Prof., Dr. Nam added.

From another perspective, Prof., Dr. Nguyen Van Nam hopes that the achievements in scientific research of his team will inspire the next generation of researchers, contributing a small part to the wealth of knowledge about caring and improving people’s lives.
