With the consistent viewpoint that economic development must go together with environmental protection, Chairman of the Bac Ninh provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan at a recent regular meeting of the committee continued to direct paper production facilities in Phong Khe craft village, Phu Lam Industrial Cluster (Tien Du District), Van Mon aluminum casting village (Yen Phong District) and other seriously-polluted craft villages not to violate regulations on environmental protection, land for factory construction, discharge, electrical safety and construction, otherwise they will have to suspend operations, absolutely without compromise.

At the meeting, participants also proposed solutions to fundamentally handle the remaining environmental pollution hotspots in the province and to make Bac Ninh the first province in the country to handle all daily household waste generated by high-tech waste-to-energy incineration technology...

Along with closely monitoring the environment in some craft villages, such as Phong Khe paper production village, Van Mon aluminum casting village, Bac Ninh City People’s Committee has just issued Document No.3336/UBND-TNMT on implementing environmental protection regulations for Khac Niem vermicelli production village.

Bac Ninh City People’s Committee requested the local Department of Natural Resources and Environment to organize a conference with vermicelli, flour production establishments in Khac Niem Ward; and set up an inspection team to examine vermicelli, flour production facilities according to regulations.

The People’s Committee of Khac Niem Ward regularly spreads information on environmental protection and requests production and business establishments to comply with relevant legal regulations. It also reviews, classifies and makes a list of production units, production households and individuals before December 20, 2024; signs commitments with the production facilities before December 31, 2024, and reports results to the city People’s Committee before January 5, 2025.

Vermicelli, flour production establishments in Khac Niem Ward are urged to proactively develop and implement environmental protection measures according to the provisions of law; implement measures to minimize wastewater, emissions, noise and treat pollution on-site; collect, classify, store and treat solid waste according to regulations; sign commitments with the local People’s Committee on the production and trading of vermicelli, flour, etc. Bac Ninh City will have completed inspections and handling of violations on environmental pollution in Khac Niem vermicelli production village by May 2025.
