Despite numerous difficulties and challenges from complicated and unpredictable global developments over the first seven months of this year, Vietnam's economy continued to record positive outcomes thanks to the effective implementation of the Government's resolutions to promote growth.

Vietnam’s e-commerce market has seen consistent growth, boasting an average annual growth rate of 16-30% over the past four years, the highest in the world, according to a report recently released by OpenGov Asia, a content platform dedicated to sharing ICT-related knowledge and information to better serve citizens and customers.

For more than 50 years, the relationship between Vietnam and India has continuously strengthened and developed. Both countries have consistently supported and assisted each other with the shared goal of seeking happiness for their people. Their diplomatic relations are now at the level of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with significant and clear progress in politics, economics, culture, energy, and people-to-people exchanges.

The idea of bamboo diplomacy was first coined by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the 29th Diplomatic Conference in Hanoi (2016), and reiterated at the first National Conference on Foreign Affairs in Hanoi (2021). Vietnam has built a unique school of diplomacy of the Ho Chi Minh era, bearing the characters of Vietnamese bamboo with “strong roots, stout trunk and flexible branches," imbued with the soul, the spirit, and the characters of the Vietnamese nation.

According to an Expat Insider 2024 survey, Vietnam is the most affordable country for expats, ranking first in the survey’s Personal Finance Index among 53 destinations. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Vietnam has topped this category.

Vietnam’s total export-import turnover hit 368.53 billion USD in the first half of this year, up 15.7% year-on-year. Exports increased by 14.5% and imports by 17%. The trade balance showed a surplus of 11.63 billion USD.

Vietnam's economy grew by 6.42% in the first six months of 2024, slightly lower than the figure of 6.58% in the same time of 2022 within the 2020-2024 period.

The state visit to Cambodia by President To Lam from July 12-13 is a significant milestone to further strengthen, nurture, and deepen the relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia under the motto of good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability.

The great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos are exemplary in the history of international relations, representing a rare model of strong, loyal, transparent, and effective bond between the two peoples in their fight for independence, freedom, and social progress.

Vietnam and New Zealand established diplomatic ties in 1975 and elevated their relations to a strategic partnership in 2020. The cooperation results obtained so far are considered a positive foundation for the two countries to foster their cooperation in the future.
