The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has released its latest edition of Singapore: In the Spotlight, outlining a vibrant lineup of events, new attractions and international accolades that underscore the city-state’s continued appeal as a global travel destination. The monthly newsletter provides updates on Singapore’s diverse offerings, ranging from iconic landmarks to lesser-known cultural gems, alongside key tourism news and statistics.

Global K-Pop sensation BTS returns to Singapore
Among the headline announcements is the highly anticipated return of global music sensation BTS. The group will stage a four-night concert in Singapore this December, marking its first performance in the city in seven years. The run will also represent the band’s longest stop in Asia outside of South Korea and Japan, placing Singapore firmly on the regional live entertainment map.
The coming months will see a packed calendar of celebrations and cultural programming. As part of Lunar New Year festivities, visitors can experience two of Singapore’s most iconic annual events. River Hongbao 2026 will once again light up the scenic waterfront with its signature giant lantern displays and traditional cultural performances, offering a festive start to the year. Complementing the waterfront spectacle is Chingay Parade 2026, recognized as Asia’s largest street parade. The event will bring together elaborate floats, colorful costumes and high-energy performances in a celebration designed to showcase unity and multicultural harmony.
Creative programming will also feature prominently in the city’s Lunar New Year season. Creative Intersections returns to Funan for its sixth edition under the theme “HOBBYHORSE: Rhythm and Forms of Play.” The initiative invites visitors to rediscover play as a wellspring of creativity through collaborations with local artists and brands. By blending art, retail and community engagement, the program reflects Singapore’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a hub for contemporary cultural expression.
Singapore’s broader cultural calendar continues to expand with distinctive experiences across venues. The Singapore Oceanarium will mark the Year of the Horse with marine-themed festive performances, offering a seasonal twist within its aquatic setting. Meanwhile, Cirque du Soleil’s KOOZA will return to the city, bringing its signature blend of acrobatics, live music and theatrical spectacle to audiences. The production’s comeback adds to Singapore’s reputation as a regular stop for major international touring acts.
In the sustainability space, Gardens by the Bay has introduced a new guided experience titled “Inside a Sustainable Garden.” The behind-the-scenes tour offers visitors an in-depth look at the green innovations and smart technologies that power one of Singapore’s most recognizable attractions. By highlighting the operational and environmental systems supporting the gardens, the initiative underscores Singapore’s broader commitment to sustainable urban development and eco-conscious tourism.
Singapore’s tourism performance has also earned global recognition. The city-state has been ranked sixth among the world’s most attractive destinations and second in East Asia in the Attractivity Index 2026 compiled by HelloSafe. The ranking cites Singapore’s strong tourism offerings, accessibility and sustainability credentials, as well as its reputation for safety and organizational excellence. The recognition reinforces Singapore’s standing as a competitive destination within a crowded international market.
Infrastructure development is also set to enhance the visitor experience. Plans are underway to improve connectivity around Marina Bay with the construction of a new curved pedestrian-and-cycling bridge linking Marina Centre and Gardens by the Bay. Designed with ramps that connect to Gardens by the Bay, East Coast Park, Tanjong Rhu and Marina Centre, the bridge will make it easier for both residents and tourists to navigate the waterfront district. The project aims to encourage walking and cycling while improving accessibility between key leisure and lifestyle precincts.
Collectively, the announcements reflect Singapore’s strategy of combining large-scale entertainment, cultural programming, sustainability initiatives and infrastructure improvements to maintain its competitive edge. From global pop concerts and large public festivals to eco-focused tours and expanded waterfront access, the city-state continues to broaden the scope of experiences available to travelers.

River Hongbao 2026 returns, marking 40 years of one of Singapore’s most iconic Lunar New Year celebrations
Through its monthly newsletter, the Singapore Tourism Board aims to keep industry stakeholders and visitors informed about developments shaping the tourism landscape. The latest edition highlights not only marquee events but also ongoing efforts to diversify attractions and strengthen Singapore’s global profile.
With a robust calendar of performances, festivals and new experiences on the horizon, alongside continued recognition for safety, accessibility and sustainability, Singapore enters the year positioned to attract both returning visitors and first-time travelers seeking a dynamic and multifaceted destination.
