In her congratulatory letter, Cindy Shao wrote that the 14th National Congress represents an important milestone, reflecting Vietnam’s sustained commitment to political stability, economic reform and sustainable development, as well as its long-term vision for prosperity and global economic integration. In recent years, Vietnam has emerged as one of Asia’s most dynamic and resilient economies, while also becoming a reliable partner of the US in trade, investment and supply chain cooperation.

“The Asian American business community greatly values Vietnam’s consistent efforts to foster an open, predictable and business-friendly environment. We look forward to continued collaboration with Vietnamese partners to promote inclusive growth, innovation, and deeper people-to-people and business-to-business ties between Vietnam and the US.

We are confident that under the leadership shaped by this Congress, Vietnam will continue to achieve new successes and further strengthen its role as a key economic partner in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond,” Cindy Shao stated, while also expressing her best wishes for the success of the Congress and for the continued prosperity of Vietnam and its people.

The Asian American Chamber of Commerce is an organization representing the business interests of the Asian American community in the US. It works to promote trade, investment and cooperation between the US and Asian countries, and regularly organizes business networking activities, investment promotion events and award programs, including those held recently in Vietnam and the US.

AACC serves as a bridge helping Asian enterprises, including Vietnamese businesses, gain access to the US market, while also supporting US companies seeking opportunities in Asia. The organization plays an active role in strengthening trade and investment links between the US and Asian economies.

Regarding cooperation with the MoIT, Do Ngoc Hung, Commercial Counselor and head of the Vietnam Trade Office in the US, noted that in recent years AACC has closely coordinated with MoIT units to organize numerous trade connection and investment promotion activities.

Most recently, during a working visit to the US in March 2024, as part of the delegation accompanying Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan to bilateral and multilateral activities, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang held a working session with Cindy Shao.

At the meeting, the AACC chair highly appreciated Vietnam’s development potential and its investment and business opportunities, noting that many US member companies are paying increasing attention to diversifying supply chains and expanding investment in areas such as digital trade and services, port development, education and finance in Vietnam. She emphasized that cooperation potential between Vietnam and the US in these fields remains substantial and carries significant importance for bilateral relations in the new period.

According to Do Ngoc Hung, alongside supporting the MoIT in engagements with US policymakers and businesses, AACC has also worked closely with the Vietnam Trade Office system in the US to regularly organize Vietnam - US business networking events, thereby promoting cooperation and trade opportunities between the two countries.

As a result of these sustained efforts, statistics from Vietnam Customs show that in 2025, the US remained Vietnam’s largest export market, with total export turnover reaching USD 153.2 billion. Major export items to this market included computers and electronic components, textiles and garments, footwear, wood and wood products, as well as machinery, equipment and spare parts.

The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is scheduled to take place from January 19 to 25, 2026, with the participation of 1,586 delegates representing more than 5.6 million Party members nationwide.

The theme of the Congress is: “Under the glorious flag of the Party, unite in determination to successfully implement the goals of national development to 2030; foster self-reliance and confidence, advance firmly in the era of national resurgence, for peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, civilization, happiness, and steady progress toward socialism.”
