Hai Phong promotes outstanding rural industrial products

Four Hai Phong products have earned the 2025 National Outstanding Rural Industrial title, underscoring the city’s innovation and strong rural industry policies.

Turning policy direction into real impact

At the 6th National Outstanding Industrial Products Awards 2025, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in early October under the theme “Sustainable identity - Reaching new heights,” Hai Phong stood out as one of the leading localities nationwide with multiple award-winning products.  

According to Decision No. 2568/QD-BCT issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, four products from Hai Phong earned national recognition: the high-pressure car washer and garden sprayer by Toan Phat Mechanical Co., Ltd.; the Cat Hai Fish Sauce collection by Cat Hai Fisheries Service and Processing JSC, including the 50°N Premium Fish Sauce and “Ong Sao” label; the Quang Hai Fish Sauce line featuring 56°N Tuna Fish Sauce and “Chat Ca Thu” Traditional Fish Sauce by Quang Hai Co., Ltd.; and the cast-iron drainage manhole cover product group.  

The recognition of these four Hai Phong products underscores the city’s consistent focus on advancing rural industrialization. Over the years, Hai Phong has repeatedly had products honored at city, regional, and national levels, strengthening local brands and enhancing the production capabilities of rural enterprises.

This success is rooted in the city’s well-structured industrial promotion policies. Guided by Decisions No. 21/2019/QD-UBND and No. 25/2021/QD-UBND, Hai Phong has built a clear framework for managing and allocating industrial promotion funds, as well as detailed procedures for developing and implementing city-level projects. These policies have been translated into practical initiatives designed to boost production capacity, drive technological innovation, and develop signature local products.  

In 2024, the Center for External Affairs and International Relations under the Hai Phong Craft Village Association implemented a group of projects supporting rural enterprises in adopting advanced machinery and equipment, with total funding exceeding VND 1.2 billion. The initiative has served as a crucial lever for small-scale rural businesses to confidently modernize production, diversify product lines, and enhance competitiveness. As a result, many rural producers have started building stronger value chains, creating high-value products, and generating stable employment opportunities for local communities.  

From technical support to brand building  

Beyond machinery upgrades, Hai Phong’s industrial promotion activities have increasingly focused on helping enterprises strengthen branding, improve product standards, and expand market reach.  

According to the Hai Phong Industrial Promotion and Development Consultancy Center Consulting, between 2012 and 2022, the city implemented over 140 industrial promotion projects, both national and local with total funding exceeding VND 94 billion. These initiatives covered vocational training, technology demonstration, technology transfer, product development, and trade promotion.  

Under the national industrial promotion program alone, Hai Phong carried out 30 projects, including seven vocational training programs for more than 2,700 workers and 19 projects supporting the adoption of modern machinery in industries such as concrete, stone carving, fish sauce production, garment manufacturing, and wood sculpture.  

A key outcome of these efforts is that many of Hai Phong’s rural industrial products have obtained brand protection, registered trademarks, standardized production processes, and met food safety and export standards. Regular trade fairs and market linkage events have also helped bring these products closer to consumers both domestically and abroad.

In 2025, Hai Phong will continue implementing key projects under the 2021-2025 Industrial Promotion Program, focusing on technology demonstration models, technology transfer, advanced equipment adoption, and brand promotion for outstanding rural industrial products. The city will also intensify monitoring, promptly address implementation challenges, and ensure each project meets quality and efficiency targets.  

Having multiple products recognized as national outstanding rural industrial products is not only a source of pride for Hai Phong’s businesses and residents but also delivers tangible benefits for the local economy.  

Enterprises whose products receive national recognition are prioritized for funding and participation in trade promotion programs, exhibitions, and fairs. creating valuable opportunities to enhance product quality, expand market share, and build reputable brands.  

Importantly, the program honoring outstanding rural industrial products has become a driving force for innovation, encouraging enterprises to scale up production, invest in cleaner technologies, and adopt environmentally sustainable practices. These efforts help optimize local resources, create rural jobs, and accelerate Hai Phong’s transition toward industrialization and modernization.  

In the coming period, Hai Phong is set to accelerate the development of rural industrial products that capitalize on regional strengths, while refining its support mechanisms to promote innovation, green production, and sustainable branding. With a strong foundation already in place, the port city is well-positioned to nurture a new generation of distinctive rural industrial products, deeply rooted in local identity yet competitive in the global value chain.
