On March 31, 2026, the Vietnam Trade Office in Washington, DC held a working session with senior executives from several leading US fashion and retail corporations, including Gap Inc., Brooks Brothers, JCPenney, and Nautica.
The meeting took place against the backdrop of ongoing adjustments in global fashion supply chains, creating new opportunities for manufacturing countries, including Vietnam.

During the discussions, both sides focused on market prospects in the fashion industry in the coming period, particularly consumer trends in the United States and the growing demand among major brands to diversify their sourcing.
Representatives of US corporations noted that, following a period of disruption in global supply chains, companies are accelerating strategies to secure stable and flexible sourcing while meeting increasingly stringent standards on quality, sustainability, and social responsibility. In this context, Vietnam continues to be regarded as a highly promising manufacturing partner, thanks to its improving production capacity, skilled workforce, and ability to fulfill large-scale orders. US businesses also expressed strong interest in expanding cooperation with Vietnamese suppliers, particularly in mid- to high-end segments, sustainable fashion, and higher value-added product lines.
From the Vietnamese side, representatives of the Trade Office provided updates on the domestic textile and garment sector’s capabilities, government support policies, and the country’s ongoing efforts to enhance production standards in line with the increasingly demanding requirements of international markets. The Trade Office also underscored Vietnam’s role as a key link in the global textile and garment supply chain, especially as brands seek to reduce dependence on certain traditional sourcing markets.
To further strengthen direct connections between businesses from both countries, the Vietnam Trade Office introduced and cordially invited US fashion corporations to participate in Vietnam International Sourcing 2026, scheduled to take place in September 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City. This large-scale trade promotion event is expected to bring together a wide range of Vietnamese manufacturing and export enterprises across multiple sectors, with textiles and garments among the key industries.
Through the event, US companies will have the opportunity to directly assess production capabilities, identify suitable partners, and establish long-term business relationships with Vietnamese suppliers. At the same time, it will enable Vietnamese enterprises to gain deeper insights into the demands, standards, and trends of major markets, thereby enhancing competitiveness and integrating more deeply into global value chains.
