Vietnam emerged as the largest export destination for Brazilian pepper in the first 11 months of 2025, importing 20,628 tonnes and accounting for 27.2% of Brazil’s total pepper exports, according to data cited by the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA).
Figures from Brazil’s Comexstat show that in November 2025, Brazil exported 5,616 tonnes of pepper worth USD 36.1 million, down 9.6% in volume and 7.2% in value from the previous month. However, exports rose sharply year on year, up 30.5% in volume and 28.9% in value compared with November 2024.
Brazil’s main pepper export markets in November were Morocco with 1,144 tonnes, accounting for 20.4% of shipments, followed by Egypt with 713 tonnes (12.7%), and Vietnam with 511 tonnes (9.1%).

Vietnam accounted for 27.2% of Brazil’s pepper exports in the first 11 months of 2025, becoming its largest export market.
Cumulatively through November 2025, Brazil exported 75,814 tonnes of pepper valued at USD 471.8 million, representing increases of 32.3% in volume and 83.1% in value year on year. Compared with the same period in 2023, export volume rose 3.5% while export value more than doubled.
Vietnam led all markets over the 11-month period, with imports from Brazil surging 185.3% year on year. Other major destinations included the United Arab Emirates with 7,808 tonnes (10.3%), Morocco with 6,587 tonnes (8.7%), India with 6,200 tonnes (8.2%) and Senegal with 5,492 tonnes (7.2%).
Brazil’s average export price for pepper during the period reached USD 6,223 per tonne, up 38.4% from a year earlier and nearly double the level recorded in 2023.
According to the International Pepper Community (IPC), the global pepper market in early December showed mixed movements but remained broadly stable. Demand in the United States strengthened for certain origins, while buyers in other regions remained cautious due to existing supply commitments.
In Vietnam, domestic pepper prices held steady last week, while export prices edged higher. VPSA said rising global prices and recovering demand in key markets are expected to support Vietnam’s pepper exports toward the end of the year, helping the sector target export revenue of more than USD 1.5 billion in 2025 despite limited production growth.
