The 2024 Plastics & Rubber Vietnam exhibition opens in HCMC

The international Plastics & Rubber Vietnam 2024 exhibition has opened in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), from March 13-15.

This is an opportunity for businesses to explore the latest cutting-edge equipment and technologies showcased by top-tier global companies worldwide in the plastics & rubber industry.

There are over 60 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions at the exhibition, including the UK, Germany, Italy, Austria, RoK, Singapore, China, India, Malaysia, Vietnam. The exhibition covers a total display area of up to 3,300 sqm. In which, there are 5 international pavilion groups. The show is expected to welcome more than 3,500 specialized visitors from Vietnam’s plastic & rubber industry to network and discover.

In addition to the exhibition area, the show provides seminars with the most practical and up-to-date information for Vietnamese plastic and rubber industry. Those seminars will revolve around topics such as developing a green plastic industry in a circular economy, applying production technology, and managing the plastic and rubber industries to promote a sustainable future.

The Vietnam plastics market is predicted to reach 10.92 million tons in 2024 and 16.36 million tons in 2029, increasing at an 8.44% CAGR from 2024 - 2029 (Mordor Intelligence, 2023). During the transition to the recycled plastic industry, Vietnam's recycled plastic market is anticipated to develop at a CAGR of 8.36% from 2023 to 2028.

Alongside the plastic industry, the rubber sector in Vietnam has experienced positive transformations in the early months of the year. According to data from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam's rubber exports in 1/2024 reached approximately 260 thousand tons, valued at 365 million USD, marking a 92.6% increase in quantity and a 99.8% increase in value compared to 1/2023. Rubber prices on key Asian trading floors also showed an upward trend in January 2024, supported by optimistic prospects in the automotive market, economic stimulus measures by the Chinese government, and higher oil prices.
