Strategic partnership signals a new phase for Vietnam's electric two-wheeler market

Vietnam's electric motorcycle market is entering a new phase as manufacturers shift beyond product competition, with YADEA's strategic partnership with Be Group highlighting the growing focus on commercial electrification and green mobility ecosystems.

Vietnam's electric two-wheeler market is evolving beyond product competition, with manufacturers increasingly investing in partnerships that support wider adoption of electric mobility. The latest development comes as YADEA announced a strategic collaboration with Vietnamese super app Be Group, highlighting a growing focus on commercial fleet electrification and ecosystem development.

The partnership brings together one of the world's largest electric two-wheeler manufacturers and one of Vietnam's leading ride-hailing platforms to accelerate the country's transition toward greener urban transportation. Rather than concentrating solely on retail sales, the two companies aim to integrate vehicle technology, digital services and driver support into a broader mobility ecosystem.

The agreement covers three key areas. The companies will jointly develop electric motorcycles tailored to the operational needs of ride-hailing drivers, collaborate on expanding Vietnam's green mobility ecosystem, and introduce exclusive incentive packages worth up to VND 5 million for eligible Be driver-partners purchasing selected YADEA models.

The initiative reflects a wider regional trend in which electric vehicle manufacturers are working more closely with mobility platforms to accelerate fleet electrification. Since ride-hailing drivers typically cover far greater daily distances than private users, electric motorcycles can offer meaningful savings in operating and maintenance costs over time.

The partnership was announced alongside the launch of the YADEA Omee smart electric scooter, a model designed primarily for students and first-time riders. At the same time, the company confirmed it will continue its "switch from gasoline to electric" trade-in program in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City through July 31, 2026, offering trade-in incentives, zero-interest installment plans and other purchase benefits to encourage EV adoption.

Taken together, these initiatives demonstrate that competition in Vietnam's electric motorcycle market is increasingly shifting beyond individual products. Manufacturers are placing greater emphasis on financial incentives, commercial partnerships and integrated mobility solutions to expand the practical use of electric vehicles.

Commenting on the company's long-term strategy in Vietnam, YADEA Vietnam General Manager Liu Jia said the future of green transportation will depend not only on technological innovation but also on the ability to connect a broader ecosystem that changes how people travel. He added that the partnership with Be reflects the company's ambition to make electric motorcycles a more practical and accessible choice for both individual consumers and commercial users.
