On August 12, 2026, Turkey issued an amendment concerning the designation of customs entry points authorized to process import procedures for certain products subject to control by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The regulation also updates the list of provincial Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry authorized to conduct official inspections of these products.

Turkey adds Denizli Province to the list of officially designated inspection authorities for certain imported products.
Under the new regulation, the Denizli Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has been added to the list of provincial authorities authorized to conduct official inspections of imported food products. The products covered include plant protection products, foodstuffs, food contact materials and substances, animal feed, and other products subject to controls aimed at ensuring food and feed safety.
The regulation is not introduced as a measure imposing additional import duties, quotas or import bans on the products concerned. Specific inspection requirements and import conditions continue to be implemented in accordance with Turkish regulations applicable to each product category.
Turkey currently operates a control system covering a wide range of agricultural products, foodstuffs and products related to food safety. Vietnamese businesses exporting such products to Turkey therefore need to accurately identify the product type, tariff code and intended use in order to determine the applicable inspection requirements.
For food shipments imported into Turkey, Vietnamese businesses are advised to consult their importers in advance regarding the competent authority responsible for conducting inspections, the required documentation and the requirements applicable to each product. Businesses should refer to the specific regulations governing each product when preparing documents and arranging inspections in compliance with the requirements of Turkish authorities, avoiding confusion between regulations concerning the inspection authority and those governing standards, import conditions or tax policies applicable to the goods.
The Viet Nam Trade Office in Turkey recommends that Vietnamese businesses seeking to export food, agricultural products and related goods to Turkey regularly update regulations issued by the Turkish Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. They should also coordinate closely with their importing partners to accurately determine the procedures applicable to each shipment.
