The program has lucky draws and provides shoppers with gifts, discounts, and vouchers, among other promotions worth up to 100 percent of the goods’ and services’ price in accordance with Clause 4 of Article 6 and Clause 2 of Article 7 in Government Decree 81/2018/ND-CP dated May 22, 2018.

The program includes promotion of products and the city’s tourist attractions, as well as related gifts, vouchers and product/service price reductions.

The practical event also promotes the city’s special, OCOP (One Commune One Product) and outstanding rural industrial products.

Businesses’ cooperation

In recent years, the retail and consumer goods market has been a bright spot in the city’s economy, experiencing increases in total retail sales of goods and service revenue. Numerous, continual promotional programs at supermarkets have helped stimulate consumer demand.

The city’s Department of Industry and Trade, along with local authorities, have taken strong measures to stimulate domestic consumption. Businesses in the city have made efforts to boost consumer demand.

Vo Thi Thu Thuy, Director of Go! Da Nang Supermarket, stated that her supermarket frequently surveys prices to offer the best prices for consumers, and sufficient supply of goods for the event has been well prepared. Thuy said Go! Da Nang regularly offers hundreds of items with attractive promotions. The focus is on essential consumer goods with discounts ranging from 25-30 percent.

In addition to this stimulus program, the supermarket also carries out promotion campaigns tied to holidays such as Christmas, which offer deep discounts on products like beer, cold cuts, and salmon. For the New Year 2024, there were deep promotion programs on food items and clothing. During the coming year-end period leading up to the Lunar New Year (Tet), Go! Da Nang aims to achieve a 25 percent growth target, with a 35 percent increase in stockpile compared to the rest of the year.

The Co.opmart Da Nang supermarket also regularly participates in the city’s stimulus programs, offering discounts ranging from 30-100 percent on various products.

The MM Mega Market has launched a smart shopping program with 500 essential items. Along with trade centers, a series of retail stores across the city are simultaneously responding to the promotion program through direct discounts on products, buy-one-get-one-free offers, and providing discount vouchers.

Phan Thi Nhu Yen, Director of the Danavimart supermarket system in Da Nang, said that the unit has stockpiled goods and launched stimulus programs to ensure suitable prices for consumer spending needs, creating positive growth in sales.

Along with demand stimulus activities, the city’s Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated with relevant units to inspect trade centers, supermarkets, businesses, wholesale markets, and retail outlets, aiming to understand the supply sources and selling prices, and take timely measures to prevent hoarding and speculation that could impact market prices. They will strictly handle any violations in production and business activities of some essential goods sectors to ensure a stable supply and prevent price spikes for consumers.

From now until the year’s end, the department will implement another stimulus program on the occasion of the Tet holiday. This will be a major effort to enable consumers to buy necessary products at discounted prices and help businesses increase sales.

Nguyen Thi Thuy Mai, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, said that as a coastal city, Da Nang has paid special attention to promoting domestic consumption through tourism. The department has attracted tourists to visit and buy goods at traditional markets. They have also boosted the night-time economy and organized trade promotion activities to popularize OCOP items in an effort to enhance the consumption of local products.
