The event, which also marked VOV’s receipt of the Ho Chi Minh Order for the third time, was attended by representatives from various ministries and sectors, including Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien.
Exactly 80 years ago, at 11:30 a.m. on September 7, 1945, VOV broadcast its first official news bulletin from Hanoi, marking the birth of Vietnam’s national radio. This historic moment established VOV as the first symbol of communication for an independent Vietnam, affirming the role of the press as a pioneering ideological and cultural front for the Party and State.

Since that milestone, VOV has remained a steadfast companion to the nation’s history, closely tied to every phase of Vietnam’s revolutionary struggles, resistance wars, nation-building, and defense efforts. Over the past eight decades, despite early challenges, VOV has grown into a robust multimedia organization.
Throughout its journey, VOV has unwaveringly fulfilled the noble mission entrusted to it by President Ho Chi Minh, the Party, the State, and the Vietnamese people.

Through continuous innovation and creativity, VOV has solidified its position as a trailblazer in building a modern revolutionary media landscape. It has played a vital role in preserving national identity while amplifying “Vietnam’s Voice” to audiences worldwide.
VOV has become a strategic information bridge, promptly conveying the Party’s policies and the State’s directives during both wartime and peacetime. It serves as an open forum reflecting the people’s voices and a cultural conduit that enhances Vietnam’s global standing.
