
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh begins working trip to China

The government aircraft carrying Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation landed at Tianjin’s Binhai Airport at midnight local time (11 p.m Hanoi time on August 30). He was welcomed by Chinese Transport Minister Liu Wei, Tianjin’s People’s Congress Standing Committee Chairman Yu Yunlin, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh, officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing and representatives of the Vietnamese community in China.

As a guest of the host country, Chinh is scheduled to deliver a key speech at the SCO’s expanded session, highlighting Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements and future orientations. He is also expected to reaffirm Vietnam’s commitment to promoting cooperation for rapid and sustainable growth.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Prime Minister will meet with leaders of other countries, international organizations and major corporations to push for concrete partnerships and attract resources for Vietnam’s development goals.

During his bilateral program with China, held in the year marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the “Vietnam-China People-to-People Exchange Year 2025,” Chinh will hold talks with senior Chinese leaders. The meetings aim to maintain strategic exchanges, strengthen political trust, and implement high-level agreements reached during reciprocal visits of the two Party General Secretaries.

The Prime Minister is also expected to meet Chinese ministries, agencies and businesses to deepen cooperation in key areas including strategic infrastructure, trade, investment, science and technology, education and training, green transition, digital transformation, security, culture, and tourism.
