This was emphasized by Bui Trung Thuong, Commercial Counselor and Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in India, in an interview with Vietnam Economic News.

Trade Counselor Bui Trung Thuong, Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in India, speaks about the Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025.
Expanding trade opportunities
The Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025 will take place from October 25 to November 4, gathering more than 2,000 domestic and international enterprises. From the perspective of the Trade Office, how do you evaluate this large-scale trade promotion event?
Bui Trung Thuong: The Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025 is a particularly important event under the national trade promotion program. It is the first fair in Vietnam to be held on such a large scale, bringing together around 3,000 exhibition booths at the National Exhibition Centre, the country’s most modern complex, spanning over 100,000 square meters.
The fair welcomes the participation of ministries, central agencies, 34 provinces and cities, as well as numerous corporations, private enterprises, and international partners. Thus, it not only serves as a trade platform but also acts as a comprehensive channel for promoting consumption, stimulating production, and boosting import-export activities.
Given its scale and influence, the Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025 is expected to become a leading hub for trade, investment, and consumer engagement in Southeast Asia, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors, importers, investors, and global partners.
I believe this is truly a golden opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to showcase their products, expand cooperation, and affirm their position in both regional and global markets.
As of now, what is the expected scale of the Indian business delegation attending the Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025?
Bui Trung Thuong: Thanks to the close coordination between the Vietnam Trade Office in India and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade), as well as proactive outreach to Indian partners, India is expected to have one of the largest international delegations at this year’s fair.
Specifically, 15 leading Indian enterprises and associations will participate, representing key sectors such as agriculture, processed food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, machinery, information technology, education, and tourism, all of which hold strong cooperation potential between the two countries.
During the fair, the Vietnam Trade Office in India will coordinate with the Organizing Committee to host B2B networking sessions, thematic seminars, and advisory programs to help Vietnamese enterprises better understand India’s import requirements, technical standards, and consumer preferences.
At the same time, the Trade Office will assist in promoting Vietnamese brands and products through media channels and business networks across India.
India: A promising market for expanding Vietnam’s exports
India is considered a promising market. How do you assess the opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to access this market through the Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025?
Bui Trung Thuong: India is currently the world’s fourth-largest economy, with a population exceeding 1.45 billion, a vast and dynamic market with rising import demand for many product categories where Vietnam has strengths, including agricultural produce, processed food, handicrafts, textiles, footwear, furniture, and consumer goods.
Through the Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025, the Trade Office aims to create a “practical bridge” for businesses from both countries to deepen cooperation. Beyond product displays, the fair will help Vietnamese enterprises gain deeper insights into India’s technical standards, import regulations, and consumption trends, enabling them to adjust production, packaging, and design to better align with market preferences.
Furthermore, bilateral trade between Vietnam and India has been growing strongly. Two-way trade surpassed 15 billion USD in 2024, with both sides targeting 20 billion USD in the near future. Hence, initiatives like the Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025 serve as key platforms for bilateral trade promotion, helping Vietnamese goods penetrate deeper into India’s retail and distribution systems.
Following the Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025, what initiatives will the Trade Office undertake to maintain business connections?
Bui Trung Thuong: The fair marks an important starting point. However, our mission does not end with a single event. The Vietnam Trade Office in India is pursuing a long-term, strategic approach to trade promotion.
In the coming period, we will continue working with the Trade Promotion Agency, industry associations, and Vietnamese enterprises to organize a series of regular trade connection activities, both online and in person.
Specifically, we plan to host B2B meetings in major Indian economic centers such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. These programs will help Vietnamese enterprises maintain contact, explore market demand, expand partnerships, and secure export contracts.
In addition, we are promoting cooperation in emerging areas such as tourism, education, technology, and innovation, opening up new avenues for Vietnamese enterprises in India, a market that is both traditional and full of potential in this era of deepening global integration.
Thank you for your insight!
The Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025 is more than an exhibition platform, it is a gateway to long-term cooperation between Vietnamese and Indian business communities, reinforcing the growing economic and trade partnership between the two nations.
