Malaysia launches anti-dumping investigation into steel wire rods from Vietnam

The Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI) of Malaysia has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into steel wire rods originating from China, Indonesia, and Vietnam, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV).

The products under investigation include steel wire rods coded HS 7231.91.10.00, 7213.91.20.00, 7213.91.90.00, and 7227.90.90.00.

The request was filed by Southern Steel Berhad, with the investigation period being from March 1, 2022, to February 29.

After initiating the probe, the investigating authority will send a questionnaire to related manufacturers and exporters.

All concerned enterprises are required to submit relevant documents and respond to the investigation questionnaire within 30 days from the date of initiating the case, with responses coming into no later than November 9.

To promptly respond to the case, the TRAV recommended that Vietnamese enterprises carefully study the notice of initiation, fully cooperate with the investigation agency, and work alongside the TRAV to receive updated information as well as timely support.
