Against this backdrop, many Vietnamese businesses are stepping up efforts to expand their scale and competitiveness overseas by strengthening production capacity while striving to meet increasingly demanding standards in product quality, innovation and international partnership development. As one of Viet Nam’s leading enterprises, Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation (SABECO) has also identified export promotion and international market expansion as key priorities. Through these efforts, the company aims not only to contribute directly to Viet Nam’s economic growth but also to enhance the standing of Vietnamese-branded products among international consumers.

Vietnamese businesses are stepping up export activities, expanding their presence in international markets and strengthening their competitiveness in the global supply chain.
Strengthening cooperation through regional and international opportunities
In recent years, Vietnamese businesses have become increasingly proactive in seeking opportunities in international markets through trade fairs and industry exhibitions, which serve as important bridges connecting domestic manufacturers with distributors and partners around the world.
The 2026 Vietfood & Beverage – ProPack Vietnam International Exhibition, held from August 6-8, was one such event. This year’s exhibition marked its 30th edition in Ho Chi Minh City and was also the first specialized exhibition in Viet Nam to receive international certification from UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
At this year’s exhibition, SABECO, one of Viet Nam’s major beverage companies, showcased its products at an impressive booth, demonstrating its confidence in competing with international brands while highlighting the position and international ambitions of a Vietnamese brand.
Patsy Lim, SABECO’s Deputy General Director in charge of Marketing, said: “Viet Nam’s growing role in global trade is creating more opportunities for Vietnamese brands to reach international consumers. We believe that every international partnership and every new export market represents an opportunity to showcase the quality, heritage and innovative spirit of Viet Nam’s brewing industry. Through major trade events such as Vietfood & Beverage – ProPack Vietnam 2026, SABECO seeks to further strengthen relationships with international partners and contribute to Viet Nam’s long-term export growth objectives.”
Positive signals support global expansion
SABECO’s ambition to expand its markets and boost exports goes beyond seeking international partners and business networking opportunities. With modern production facilities and an annual capacity of approximately 2.45 billion liters, SABECO has been gradually turning its international expansion plans into reality, bringing Vietnamese beer products closer to consumers around the world.
The company’s products are currently available in more than 40 markets across several continents. Notably, in the first six months of 2026, SABECO’s export performance reached 139% of its target and surged 221.2% year on year.
These positive results have been driven by the company’s strategy of strengthening brand promotion and expanding international business, providing a stronger foundation for SABECO to pursue its ambition of becoming a leading beverage company with an increasingly solid market position in the region and globally.
Looking ahead, bringing products bearing a distinctly Vietnamese identity to more countries also reflects the vision of the beer industry leader to enhance the value and competitiveness of “Made in Vietnam” products in global markets.
International-quality products become a competitive advantage
For businesses pursuing long-term growth in overseas markets, production scale alone is not enough. In recent years, SABECO has continuously invested in technology, modernized its production operations and strengthened research and product development. The company said these initiatives are aimed at maintaining consistent product quality, improving production efficiency and meeting increasingly diverse market demands.
Earlier this year, at the Melbourne Royal Australian International Beer Awards 2026, one of the world’s leading prestigious beer competitions, Bia Saigon Lager and Bia 333 received Silver Medals. Meanwhile, Bia Lac Viet, Bia Saigon Special, Bia Saigon Export Premium and Bia Saigon Chill each won Bronze Medals in different categories.
Several months later, at the World Beer Championships – Spring Seasonals in the United States, all four SABECO entries won Silver Medals. Bia Saigon Lager, Bia 333 and Bia 333 Pilsner received Silver Medals in the Adjunct Lager category, while Bia Saigon Chill won a Silver Medal in the American Style Lager category.
Repeated recognition at international competitions reflects the positive results of SABECO’s investment in product quality and development, while providing further momentum for the company to expand its presence in overseas markets.
As the Vietnamese Government continues to promote export growth, the ability of Vietnamese businesses to expand internationally will increasingly depend on product quality, innovation capabilities and their ability to build relationships with global partners. These factors will also determine whether Vietnamese brands can move beyond their manufacturing advantages to establish sustainable positions in international markets.
