On the morning of July 4, the opening ceremony of the Sustainable Partnership Week connecting retail distributors with manufacturers and suppliers of environmentally friendly products took place in Hanoi.
Promoting sustainable production and consumption
The event forms part of the National Action Programme on Sustainable Production and Consumption for the 2021 - 2030 period. It is organized by the Department of Innovation, Green Transition and Industrial Promotionunder the Ministry of Industry and Trade, with the Vietnam Technology Solutions Joint Stock Company (VETS) serving as the implementing partner.
The programme is designed to create a networking platform that brings together manufacturers, suppliers of environmentally friendly products, retail distributors, shopping centres and consumers. By promoting green consumption and sustainable value chains, it seeks to raise awareness among businesses and the public about responsible production, distribution and consumption, while helping enterprises access modern retail channels and expand market opportunities for environmentally friendly products.
Speaking at the event, Hoang Viet Dung, Deputy Head of the Division for Energy Efficiency and Green Transition under the Agency of Innovation, Green Transition and Industrial Promotion, said that sustainable production and consumption play an increasingly important role in advancing green growth, sustainable development and strengthening the international competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises.

\He noted that shopping centres and retail establishments act as an important bridge between manufacturers and consumers. They not only provide producers with access to modern distribution channels but also help shape consumer preferences for green and environmentally friendly products. Spreading the message of green production and sustainable consumption
Through promotional and communication activities hosted at shopping centres, the programme aims to spread the message of green production and sustainable consumption while encouraging consumers to prioritize environmentally friendly products with clear origins and strong social responsibility.
The recognition programme for exemplary businesses and household enterprises acknowledges organizations that have made significant efforts in producing, supplying and distributing products in line with sustainable development principles. It is also expected to encourage the wider business community to continue innovating production models, improving packaging, optimizing resource use and enhancing product quality.
In particular, the green value chain networking sessions and partnership signing activities are expected to lay the foundation for substantive cooperation beyond the event, strengthening collaboration among manufacturers, distributors and other stakeholders across environmentally friendly supply chains.
As one of the 15 participating exhibitors, Tran Thi Hue, Business Manager of the MEVI Ecosystem under MEVI Impact Business Initiative Support Joint Stock Company, told Newspaper of Industry and Trade that the MEVI exhibition booth features products from around 40 start-ups operating under sustainable production and consumption models. All displayed products are developed with a strong focus on environmental protection and consumer health.

Exhibition booths showcase environmentally friendly products, technologies and sustainable production solutions during the event.
The MEVI Ecosystem currently operates around 200 retail booths nationwide, while several products from businesses within the ecosystem have already been exported to demanding markets, including Japan, South Korea and Germany.
Also participating in the programme, Nguyen Thi Tuyet, representing Vinahorn Xuan Huy Handicrafts Trading Co., Ltd., showcased a wide range of handicraft products. According to Nguyen Thi Tuyet, the company's products are available across numerous provinces and cities in Vietnam and have also been exported to several major international markets.
By joining this year's programme, the company hopes to further promote the spirit of green production and sustainable consumption while contributing to broader sustainable development efforts within the community.
As part of the event, the Organizing Committee also introduced a Green Booth featuring energy-efficient products. This is one of a series of demonstration booths scheduled to be established throughout 2026 to showcase products, technologies, solutions and best practices in industrial energy efficiency.
The programme represents a practical contribution to implementing the objectives of the National Action Programme on Sustainable Production and Consumption for the 2021 - 2030 period, while providing fresh momentum for stakeholders to jointly build a greener, more responsible and more sustainable ecosystem spanning production, distribution and consumption.
