Quang Tri province currently has 25 products and product sets recognized as National Outstanding Rural Industrial Products (RISEP), providing an important foundation for the locality to advance rural industrialization and modernization in the coming years.

RISEP creates momentum for elevating local products

In recent years, the Outstanding Rural Industrial Products (RISEP) voting and recognition program has become an important driver of production development in Quang Tri’s rural areas. Through the initiative, many of the province’s distinctive products have enhanced their value, expanded their market reach, and gradually established their brands nationwide.

According to the Quang Tri provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the province has so far recorded 25 products and product sets that have been recognized as National Outstanding Rural Industrial Products through various rounds of evaluation. In 2025 alone, Quang Tri gained four additional products and product sets that were awarded National Outstanding Rural Industrial Product certificates by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The recognized products span a wide range of sectors, from agricultural and food processing to materials manufacturing and household goods production. This reflects not only the diversity of the province’s rural industrial product portfolio but also its ability to effectively leverage local resources and indigenous advantages.

Beyond serving as recognition of product quality, the National Outstanding Rural Industrial Product title opens up numerous opportunities for enterprises, cooperatives, and production establishments. The designation is regarded as a “passport” that helps businesses enhance credibility, promote their brands, gain access to modern distribution systems, and strengthen their competitiveness in the marketplace.

Notably, through RISEP products, Quang Tri is gradually building sustainable production value chains that connect raw material areas, processing facilities, and consumer markets. This approach aligns with growing consumer demand for product quality, traceability, and unique local characteristics.

The achievements attained also demonstrate the effectiveness of policies supporting rural industrial development, encouraging innovation, and enhancing local production capacity. In turn, these efforts help unlock the potential and advantages of rural areas while promoting sustainable local economic development.

Toward deeper RISEP development in the 2026 - 2030 period

To build on these achievements, Quang Tri is formulating new measures to further develop its system of outstanding rural industrial products in the coming years.

Recently, the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee issued Plan No.1621/KH-UBND on organizing the provincial-level Outstanding Rural Industrial Product selection program for 2026. The plan aims to identify and honor products with high quality and practical value, strong potential for scientific and technological application, and distinctive local cultural characteristics, thereby creating a basis for supporting production development, market expansion, and participation in national-level evaluations.

A notable feature of Quang Tri’s strategy is that the development of outstanding rural industrial products extends beyond selection and recognition activities to focus strongly on post-recognition support. Accordingly, recognized products will receive assistance in completing legal documentation, accessing modern distribution networks, e-commerce platforms, and supermarket systems in order to broaden their market presence.

The province is also emphasizing advisory support for improving product design and packaging, brand development, intellectual property protection registration, and trade promotion activities. These factors are considered essential for enhancing product value and ensuring sustainable growth in an increasingly competitive market environment.

During the 2026 - 2030 period, the development of RISEP products is expected to be more closely integrated with digital transformation, e-commerce, and value-chain development. Through the selection process, the province will continue identifying new products while supporting the standardization of production processes, quality improvement, and greater responsiveness to market demand.

At the same time, Quang Tri aims to facilitate deeper participation of rural industrial products in domestic value chains while gradually expanding opportunities to access international markets. This objective is not only about product development but also serves as an important solution for creating jobs, increasing incomes for rural residents, and accelerating rural industrialization.

With a foundation of 25 National Outstanding Rural Industrial Products and an increasingly systematic support framework, Quang Tri has strong grounds for optimism regarding a new phase of rural industrial development. In this process, RISEP products are expected to continue serving as a leading force, promoting the province’s distinctive values and generating momentum for sustainable economic growth.

In 2025, among the 108 products and product sets nationwide that were granted RISEP certificates by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Quang Tri had four products and product sets recognized, including: Bon Phuong Ground Coffee produced by Bon Phuong Ecological Agricultural Cooperative (Huong Phung commune); melamine-coated MDF boards manufactured by Thuan An Wood Panel Co., Ltd. (Gio Linh commune); a kitchenware product set made using organic traditional lacquer technology produced by Quang Thuy Wood Chopsticks Production, Trading and Business Cooperative (Nam Ba Don commune); and a product set comprising red turmeric starch and red turmeric-honey capsules produced by Van Di Agricultural Cooperative (Truong Phu commune).
