During the meeting, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien highly appreciated the fruitful cooperation between Viet Nam and Exxon Mobil over the past 16 years. As one of the world’s leading oil and gas corporations, Exxon Mobil has been actively involved in multiple energy projects in Viet Nam, including oil and gas exploration and production, as well as gas-to-power initiatives.
The Minister welcomed the company’s continued commitment to Viet Nam, especially its efforts to provide reliable energy while minimizing greenhouse gas emissions and working toward carbon neutrality.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien called on Exxon Mobil to continue advancing the Blue Whale (Ca Voi Xanh) Gas Field Development Project in accordance with Vietnamese law and the signed petroleum contract. He emphasized the strategic importance of the project in ensuring national energy security and fostering sustainable development.
Representatives from Exxon Mobil reaffirmed the corporation’s strong confidence in Viet Nam’s economic outlook and regional potential, which underpins its long-term investments in the country. They praised Viet Nam’s recent reform efforts under the leadership of General Secretary To Lam and noted that the country’s political stability and positive changes have significantly enhanced investor confidence.
Exxon Mobil expressed its commitment to sharing these positive developments with key US stakeholders, including the White House, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), the Department of Commerce, and the Department of Energy, in support of Viet Nam during its ongoing negotiations with the United States.
