Forum connects trade and tourism among Japan, Thailand and Vietnam

On the morning of March 15, in Udon Thani (Thailand), the consulate general of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan, in coordination with the consulate general of Vietnam in Khon Kaen, Thailand, organised a forum on connecting trade and tourism among Japan, Thailand and Vietnam.

This is considered an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses living and doing business in Japan and Thailand to meet, connect, cooperate and exchange with young Vietnamese businesses.

Sharing about the potential for trade cooperation, tourism and investment opportunities in Japan, along with the strengths of the Vietnamese community in Japan, Vu Chi Mai, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan, said that Kyushu is a region that concentrates many industries such as petrochemicals, automobile manufacturing, semiconductors and metals.

Kyushu is an important gateway for Japan in tourism and international trade. With a population of about 1.274 million people, the area accounts for about 10.2% of the total population of Japan, she noted.

Speaking at the forum, Dinh Hoang Linh, Consul General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen, Thailand, said that in recent times, the enhanced strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand has increasingly developed deeply and substantially, creating an important foundation to promote economic development cooperation between the two countries.

In Northeast Thailand, Udon Thani is an important economic, trade and connectivity centre. With developed transport infrastructure, a high-speed railway under construction and an international airport, Udon Thani is becoming an attractive destination for investors.

Over the years, 100,000 overseas Vietnamese in Northeast Thailand with about 1,000 overseas Vietnamese businesses have built prestige and affirmed their position in the local society in Northeast Thailand. This is an important resource that directly participates in economic cooperation and acts as a bridge to promote investment, trade and tourism between Vietnam and Northeast Thailand.

At the forum, a signing ceremony took place between associations and Vietnamese businesses in the three countries of Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan.
