EVN prepares for APEC 2017

Ensuring power supplies

The APEC forum will take place in Da Nang City in November 2017 with the participation of leaders from 21 member economies in addition to 2,000 official delegates, 3,000 reporters and 5,000 businesses.

EVN Deputy General Director Ngo Son Hai said that the EVN has directed units to strengthen cooperation with central agencies and localities to develop and deploy plans in order to ensure power supplies for meetings, accommodation and working stations in the APEC. The EVN has requested the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) to complete construction projects of the 220kV Ngu Hanh Son transformer station and the 220kV Hoa Khanh-Hue power transmission line; improve capacity of the 220kV Hoa Khanh and 110kV District 3 transformer stations. The 110kV Da Nang-Lien Tri power transmission line is given to the Da Nang Power Company to secure a reliable power supply in the city center.

Some new construction projects of 110kV transformer stations have also been implemented to put the 220kV Hai Chau transformer station into operation.

Accelerating the progress

Under the EVN’s direction, the Da Nang Power Company has implemented many works since the beginning of the year, including completing installation of transformer stations to increase capacity of the 110kV An Don transformer station from 50 MVA to 88 MVA. Two construction projects of the 110kV Hoa Xuan and Ngu Hanh Son transformer stations have been deployed with the selection of contractors and ground clearance with the goal of putting into operation in the first and second quarter of 2017.

Upgrading the grid is also mentioned such as improving underground cable feeders in the 110kV transformer stations, building the 22kV power system along Nguyen Tat Thanh road and Thuan Phuoc Bridge, replacing over 15-year transformer stations and installing new equipment.

The Da Nang Power Company has also actively accelerated the progress to improve the medium voltage grid in order to ensure power supplies for APEC’ locations such as Da Nang Administrative Center, Furama and Sheraton resorts and Tien Son Sport Center.
