The 2026 ceremony also coincides with the 100th anniversary of the MICHELIN Star rating system, first introduced in 1926. Over the past century, the MICHELIN Guide has become one of the world’s most respected restaurant authorities, recognising establishments that deliver exceptional dining experiences through culinary excellence, creativity and consistency.
The ceremony in Vietnam will gather chefs, restaurateurs, hospitality leaders, partners and media representatives to celebrate the achievements of the country’s restaurant industry. During the event, the full MICHELIN Guide Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang 2026 selection will be officially revealed, honouring restaurants that demonstrate outstanding quality and innovation.
Following the successful format introduced last year, the 2026 edition will continue as a one-night event featuring the official announcement ceremony, a premium cocktail reception and a live-stream broadcast aimed at reaching a wider audience. The event is expected to provide a platform for culinary professionals from across Vietnam and the region to connect, exchange ideas and inspire one another.
Restaurants selected by the MICHELIN Guide are evaluated anonymously by MICHELIN inspectors according to five universal criteria include quality of ingredients, mastery of cooking techniques, harmony of flavours, the chef’s personality expressed through cuisine, and consistency across the menu and over time.
This year’s ceremony will also feature several renowned guest chefs from across Asia, representing some of the region’s most acclaimed restaurants. Participating chefs include Stefan Stiller from Taian Table, holder of three MICHELIN Stars; Garima Arora from Gaa, awarded two MICHELIN Stars; and Rodrigo Andres Osorio from Asador Alfonso, recipient of one MICHELIN Star.
Vietnamese restaurants will also be represented by prominent chefs including Viet Hong Le from CieL, Sam Tran from Gia, Yamaguchi Hiroshi from Hibana by Koki, Francis Thuan Tran from Nephele, and Alessio Rasom from Si Dining.
