Modi warmly welcomed the Vietnamese Prime Minister on his visit to India, emphasizing that Viet Nam's participation in the 18th BRICS Summit helps elevate the stature of the summit.

Le, for his part, highly appreciated Modi's initiative to establish the Voice of Global South Forum, affirming Viet Nam's readiness to work with India in contributing to BRICS initiatives in 2026, particularly in the areas of innovation, digital transformation, clean energy, sustainable development, and other fields.

Amid changes and uncertainties in the regional and global situation, Viet Nam and India elevated ties to an Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the visit of General Secretary and President To Lam in May, reflecting the profound depth of bilateral ties, while opening up broad opportunities for cooperation in the future, noted the guest.

Le called for establishing economic corridors and supply chains to enhance connectivity between the two economies; launching negotiations on a bilateral Free Trade Agreement; and actively joining hands with ASEAN countries to promote the early completion of the upgraded ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA).

He welcomed major Indian corporations to invest in Viet Nam in fields such as technology, infrastructure, energy, and pharmaceuticals.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister also suggested India continue to increase the frequency of direct flights connecting major cities of the two countries.

In the field of science and technology, Le called on the two sides to soon develop a Viet Nam-India technology connectivity strategy, focusing on key sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI) and 5G/6G mobile network technologies.

He also stressed the need to accelerate cooperation programs on training AI and semiconductor engineers, provide digital technology training for the younger generation, and enhance linkages between startups and innovation enterprises of the two countries.

The guest urged the two sides to step up cultural and sports exchanges, yoga activities, and Buddhist exchanges in 2027 to mark the 55th founding anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Viet Nam backs India to play a greater role in multilateral institutions, stated Le, adding that the Southeast Asian nation stands ready to support stronger ties between India and ASEAN.

He expressed his hope that India would continue to strongly support ASEAN's principled stance on the East Sea issue.

The two leaders affirmed their resolve to soon realize the trade goal of USD 25 billion, while facilitating market access for products from both countries, particularly pharmaceuticals, agricultural products, fisheries, and livestock products.

They stressed the importance of enhancing connectivity by road, rail, air, and sea, studying ways to promote railway connectivity projects, establishing a connectivity corridor linking South Asia and Southeast Asia, and strengthening connections between the two countries' seaports in conjunction with the Asia-Europe maritime route.

The host and the guest highlighted the two countries' longstanding strengths in cultural, civilizational, historical, and religious ties spanning thousands of years, expressing their desire to harness these advantages to further expand collaboration in tourism and culture, preserve and promote cultural values, and strengthen people-to-people exchanges, thereby contributing to consolidating their friendship.

The two Prime Ministers pledged to reinforce coordination and mutual support at regional and international forums.
