In his report, Vice Chairman Huynh Chi Nguyen noted that following the merger of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces, the newly formed Ca Mau Province now enjoys greater opportunities and advantages for socio-economic development. In line with Government Resolution No. 226/NQ-CP dated May 8, 2025 - which sets national growth targets of 8.3 - 8.5% for the year, Cà Mau has been assigned a GRDP growth goal of 8%. To realize this target, the Provincial People’s Committee issued Plan No. 014/KH-UBND on July 21, 2025, detailing key directions and tasks for socio-economic development through the end of the year.
To unlock its post-merger potential and effectively implement both Government Resolution No. 226/NQ-CP and Politburo Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW dated August 20, 2025, on ensuring national energy security through 2030 with a vision toward 2045, the Ca Mau authorities proposed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade help resolve obstacles facing several key energy projects. These projects, the province emphasized, are critical for local economic growth and for contributing to national energy security.
