Vietnam hosts the global logistics event for the first time

The FIATA World Congress, organized annually by the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), is the most significant global event in the logistics sector. After persistent efforts, Vietnam’s Logistics Business Association (VLA) successfully secured the right to host this prestigious international gathering.

For the first time, Vietnam will host the event under the theme “Green Logistics - Swift Adaptation.” The congress will feature more than 1,000 delegates representing 150 countries and territories, and an exhibition of over 120 booths, showcasing the latest technologies and logistics solutions. The event aims to serve as a hub for global logistics leaders to exchange ideas, discuss trends, and foster new partnerships.

Hosting the FIATA World Congress 2025 marks not only Vietnam’s growing strategic role in the global supply chain but also the international community’s recognition of the country’s efforts toward sustainable development and integration. The event will further elevate Vietnam’s image as a dynamic, open, and cooperative partner in the global logistics landscape.

The five-day congress will include a high-level plenary session attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, government leaders, ministries, provincial authorities, and international experts. Discussions will focus on green logistics, digital transformation, and emerging global supply chain standards.

Seven thematic workshops will delve into key issues such as cross-border e-commerce, global trade restructuring, supply chain resilience, maritime and rail logistics, innovation and digitalization, and new-generation economic and transport corridors all featuring insights from leading global experts.

The event will also include an international exhibition on green logistics and technology, presenting cutting-edge solutions to reduce emissions and optimize transport systems.

A “golden bridge” connecting Vietnamese businesses

A highlight of the congress will be the B2B networking program, offering Vietnamese enterprises opportunities to connect directly with leading global logistics corporations, explore joint ventures, and attract investment. Cultural exchange activities and visits to Vietnam’s logistics infrastructure are also planned to promote the country’s image to the international community.

With its “green and adaptive” theme, the congress is expected to help Vietnamese businesses embrace digitalized supply chains, automation, and AI-powered logistics management, thereby reducing costs, time, and risks.

It will also raise awareness about environmental responsibility, encouraging the adoption of low-emission transport modes, the use of clean energy, and compliance with global carbon and emissions standards.

For small and medium-sized enterprises, the congress provides a gateway to global networks, updated trade agreements, and new customs regulations, while enabling Vietnam’s policymakers to design supportive policies aligned with international trends.

Set to take place in Hanoi from October 6 to 10, 2025, the FIATA World Congress 2025 will serve as a pivotal platform for Vietnam’s logistics sector to accelerate global integration and lay the groundwork for a green, sustainable supply chain future.
