Earlier, on October 2, the Prime Minister chaired several meetings of the Government Standing Committee to review key issues, including the socio-economic situation, in preparation for the regular Cabinet meeting.
Reports presented at the meeting highlighted that in the third quarter and September, the global situation remained complex with increasing risks and challenges. Domestically, despite difficulties and external headwinds, Vietnam’s economy continued to achieve positive and comprehensive results.
Economic growth is expected to remain high, macroeconomic stability has been maintained, inflation is under control, and major economic balances are secured. Business and production activities have shown recovery, with growth drivers being renewed and strengthened.
Vietnam’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) reached 50.4 points in September, signaling a return to expansion with new orders increasing again.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to maintain macroeconomic stability, boost growth, control inflation and risks, and effectively implement fiscal policies with a focused and prioritized approach. He also urged continued institutional reform, digital transformation, innovation, and scientific development as key drivers for sustainable growth.
The Prime Minister called for effective organization of the Autumn Fair at the Vietnam Exhibition Center, acceleration of strategic infrastructure projects such as railways and social housing, removal of the IUU yellow card, and stronger promotion of the tourism sector.
