Bosch and RMIT University forge strategic partnership to foster future workforce development

Bosch Vietnam officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology Vietnam (RMIT Vietnam).

This collaboration aims to meet the changing demands of Vietnam's technology-driven landscape by providing RMIT’s students with crucial skills and knowledge in science, technology, and innovation, while also opening career opportunities for them at Bosch. Under the framework of the agreement, this partnership also contributes to Bosch’s local-for-global strategy for nurturing and developing skilled and talented workforce in the country.

Through the MOU, the collaboration between two parties is established within 4 key pillars, include Education opportunities for students, Skills development, Corporate and Executive Education, Commercial & Technical Research Opportunities. These four pillars are intended to include sessions where Bosch's experts provide career guidance to RMIT's students, offer real-world case studies covering both technical and commercial topics, facilitate hands-on projects through visits to Bosch's plant and R&D center, provide increased exposure to career opportunities at Bosch, and offer professional development to help students transition smoothly into their careers.

Uniting to empower the next generation with industry-ready skills and education

Mr. Dominik Meichle, Managing Director of Bosch Vietnam, emphasized the company’s unwavering focus on human resource development. “Our investment is not just about today; it aims to support a high-quality labor force for Vietnam, poised to adapt to the rapid technological and innovative shifts occurring globally and within the country,” he said.

RMIT Vietnam’s Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor Jodie Altan expects that this partnership will offer RMIT students valuable exposure to practical knowledge and hands-on experiences from Bosch experts across diverse technical and commercial fields. “This strategic alliance reinforces the bond between Bosch and RMIT, with a shared goal of nurturing local talent to positively impact the growth of Vietnam,” Ms. Altan said.

Under the MoU framework, Bosch Vietnam and RMIT will collaborate on creating specialized Corporate Executive Development (CED) courses and programs which are tailored to meet the specific needs of companies in Vietnam and the region. These initiatives aim to enhance students' digital literacy and technological adaptability, particularly in smart manufacturing and automation for Industry 4.0. Moreover, Bosch plans to send over its top experts in the field to lecture some classes, providing practical insights to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Likewise, Bosch is also exploring the integration of relevant RMIT Vietnam CED programs into its strategic workforce development plans.

In Vietnam, Bosch remains steadfast in its mission to support Vietnam’s Industry 4.0 goals, particularly in automation, technology, and smart manufacturing. Bosch achieves this by playing a role in the education of Vietnamese students, focusing on critical fields like business acumen, and technical expertise. The company recognizes that nurturing local talent is not only essential for its own success but also contributes to the nation’s advancement.

“As Australia’s largest higher educational institution in-country, RMIT has a clear vision to be a leading university of impact not just in Vietnam but in the Asia Pacific region. The University is deeply committed to supporting the economic prosperity of Vietnam, not only through its education and research capabilities, but through key strategic initiatives like this partnership with Bosch Vietnam,” Ms. Altan affirmed the University’s long-term strategy.

The collaboration between Bosch and RMIT holds the promise of creating appealing employment opportunities for students by matching academia and industry. Additionally, it involves targeted professional development within the dynamic work environment of Bosch Vietnam.

Bosch Vietnam was recognized as the best workplace in the Engineering/Machinery/Mechanics sector, as voted by Anphabe in the prestigious “Top 100 Best Places to Work in Vietnam in 2023” list. This accolade marks Bosch’s consistent presence on the list for nine consecutive years, solidifying its position as a leading employer in Vietnam. These include the Great Place to Work Certificate 2023, Top 50 Best Employer of Choice 2023 by Vietnam Student, and Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards – Outstanding CSR.
