On January 23, 2026, at the Hanoi campus of RMIT University Vietnam, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and RMIT University Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises and promote the development of national brands in both domestic and international markets.

The MOU was signed by Vietrade Director General Vu Ba Phu and RMIT University Vietnam Vice, Chancellor Scott Thompson - Whiteside. The event marks a new development in the partnership between the two sides, following effective coordination in capacity building for businesses and the promotion of the Vietnam National Brand Program.

Vu Ba Phu affirmed that the MOU signing opens a new phase of cooperation between Vietrade and RMIT University Vietnam. The combination of expertise, experience, and networks from both sides is expected to support Vietnamese enterprises in building strong brands, improving global competitiveness, and contributing to sustainable economic growth.
Professor Scott Thompson - Whiteside emphasized that the partnership is built on trust, shared values, and a commitment to enhancing Vietnam's competitiveness. RMIT University Vietnam reaffirmed its role as a bridge between Vietnam and global knowledge, networks, and opportunities, while pledging to accompany Vietrade in implementing initiatives that bring practical benefits to businesses, society, and the economy.

According to the MOU, both sides agreed to establish a long - term cooperation framework in trade promotion, training, research, and education related to brand development and international business. On this basis, Vietrade and RMIT University Vietnam will coordinate to organize activities within the framework of the annual Vietnam National Brand Forum, develop and implement training and consultancy programs for enterprises, and conduct research for policy planning and business strategy formulation. Vietrade will serve as a coordinator, connecting RMIT University Vietnam with the business community and providing data and orientation for cooperative activities.

The signing ceremony not only demonstrates the effective partnership between Vietrade and RMIT University Vietnam but also affirms their long - term commitment to accompanying Vietnam's development and international integration. In the coming time, both sides will continue to expand the scope and improve the efficiency of cooperation, aiming for in -depth initiatives with positive impacts on the business community and the economy.
