Thai Huong elevates Vietnamese cosmetics
Handmade products
In 2014 and 2015, natural extract-based cosmetics were yet to be familiar to the Vietnamese 8X generation. However, at that time, many young people had become acquainted with handmade products under the Linh Huong brand.
Founded in 2015, Thai Huong, the owner of the Linh Huong cosmetics brand, was one of the pioneers in producing natural extract-based cosmetic products. The company has laid the foundation for the domestic cosmetics industry.
Within just four years, from 2016 to 2020, the company built four factories equipped with modern, closed-loop production lines and advanced technologies acquired from beauty industry powerhouses, such as the Republic of Korea, Europe, and Japan.
Thai Huong achieved GMP certifications for food production in 2021 and cosmetics production in 2022. The year 2024 marked a significant milestone as the company has been certified as meeting standards of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This achievement affirms the quality of Thai Huong’s products and opens up new opportunities for its exports to discerning markets, such as the US and Europe.

Pharmaceutical and cosmetic empire in Vietnam
Thai Huong has now become a leading pharmaceutical and cosmetic empire in Vietnam. The company operates manufacturing facilities covering an area of 12,000sq.m, making it one of the largest pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturers in the North meeting CGMP-ASEAN standards. It is also ranked among the most modern factories in Southeast Asia. With thousands of showrooms and representative offices across 63 provinces and cities nationwide, Thai Huong’s natural extract-based cosmetic brand meets market demand. The company produces two million products each month.
“Our aspiration is to elevate Vietnamese cosmetics. We aim to provide Vietnamese consumers with products that are suited to their needs and produced by Vietnamese people with internationally standardized quality. This is the guiding principle for all our business activities,” shared Nguyen Linh Huong, Chairwoman of Thai Huong Group.
Having a cosmetics research center, Thai Huong has the capability to develop products tailored to specific requirements of its partners. This ensures the exclusivity of unique formulations in the market. Thai Huong’s R&D department handles more than 1,000 research requests each year, most of which are for products derived from natural ingredients that are friendly to human health and the environment.
According to Nguyen Van Thai, Vice Chairman of Thai Huong Group, the company places great emphasis on the quality of raw materials. Ensuring high-quality raw materials is a key factor determining the quality of final products. All raw materials used by Thai Huong are carefully selected and come with certifications, such as MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), COA (Certificate of Analysis), and more.
Along with cosmetics production, Thai Huong also provides services, such as packaging design, labeling, legal procedures, marketing materials, and communications campaigns.
According to the Vietnam Cosmetics Market 2023 report by global market research company Mintel, the Vietnamese cosmetics market is growing strongly at an annual rate of 15-20 percent. Another study conducted by Euromonitor International predicts that the Vietnamese cosmetics market’s value will increase from US$2.3 billion in 2022 to US$3.2 billion by 2027.
Economists believe the potential market offers many opportunities for cosmetic businesses. However, potential always comes with challenges, and cosmetic companies face numerous obstacles, fierce competition, price sensitivity, and more.
In business, competition and difficulties are inevitable. However, Thai Huong Group’s journey from handmade products to reaching international standards is a clear testament to the relentless efforts of Vietnamese enterprises.
