
Prime Minister proposes three strategic priorities on AI and minerals

On November 23, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse, and the Vietnamese delegation returned to Hanoi, wrapping up their trip to the G20 Summit and a series of bilateral engagements in South Africa.
South Africa was the final stop on Prime Minister’s official visits to Kuwait and Algeria, and his participation in the G20 Summit and related engagements from 16 - 24 November. The trip was made at the invitations of Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al Sabah, Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait; Sifi Ghrieb, Prime Minister of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria; and Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa and Chair of the G20 in 2025.

The mission concluded with strong results. The G20 Summit adopted a Joint Leaders’ Declaration and formally transferred the G20 Presidency from South Africa to the United States.
The participation of the high-level Vietnamese delegation led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh contributed meaningfully to the success of the summit, while projecting the image of a dynamic Vietnam that is rising confidently and engaging proactively for peace, cooperation and development regionally and globally.

The trip also reinforced political trust, deepened friendship, and advanced multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and South Africa, Kuwait, and Algeria, as well as with partners across the Middle East and Africa. It facilitated the signing of agreements and arrangements that establish a legal basis for bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and other priority sectors, and strengthened coordination at international organizations and multilateral forums.
