Ninh Binh to organize Culinary Tourism Festival 2024

(VEN) - The Ninh Binh Culinary Festival 2024 themed “Essence of the Ancient Capital Cuisine” will be held from October 18 to 29, 2024 in the northern province of Ninh Binh with many attractive activities.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site (2014 - 2024), Ninh Binh Province will organize the Ninh Binh Culinary Festival and the Trang An - Cuc Phuong Hot Air Balloon Festival. The events attract the participation of eight districts and cities in the province and 100 booths of domestic and foreign enterprises.

The festival aims to introduce, perform, and exchange culture and cuisine among districts, cities, and culinary businesses in Ninh Binh Province. This is an extremely important event that contributes to the preservation, promotion of traditional culinary culture, and revival of dishes in the ancient Hoa Lu Royal cuisine.

The festival will also help enhance the value and quality of dishes of the ancient capital Hoa Lu to serve tourists, and create new, unique and attractive tourism products for attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists.

The main activities of the festival include an exhibition space showcasing regional food; a culinary tourism competition (on October 24); a talk show on developing Ninh Binh culinary tourism culture (October 22). Other activities include artistic flower arranging, the best contestant in the English competition, making cakes, running, clay figurine making, chess playing, cooking sweet soup, looking for tourism ambassadors - shining with Ninh Binh tourism cuisine...

In particular, there will be a culinary performance activity at the opening ceremony by the Vietnam Chefs Association, the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association, the Vietnam Royal Chefs Association cooking a giant pot of crab soup with 999 servings to express gratitude to tourists. The event is open free to the public and visitors.

Along with that, Ninh Binh province will also organize the Trang An - Cuc Phuong Hot Air Balloon Festival which will take place from October 26 to 29, 2024. The festival will have 35 Hot Air Balloons and Paragliders (13 Hot Air Balloons and 22 Paragliders) operated by foreign pilots and the Hanoi Paragliding Club. Within the framework of the festival, the organizing committee will set up 120 booths displaying specialties from different regions across the country, gifts for tourists, and tourist booths of the participating provinces.

With its unique characteristics and potential in terms of nature - culture - history, Ninh Binh Province has identified socioeconomic development strategy “taking the preservation and promotion of the values of cultural - historical heritage, fine traditions of the people, the ancient capital land, and the outstanding values of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of Trang An as its resources and driving forces for development” and targeted to become a centrally-governed city by 2035 with typical characteristics of a millennium heritage and innovation city" with Trang An Heritage being the center.
