Miss Tourism World contest promotes Vietnam

(VEN) - The final round of Miss Tourism World 2022 has toured five Vietnamese provinces and cities, promoting Vietnam's tourism, culture, and heritage to the world and bringing the world to Vietnam.

“Bring the world to Vietnam” is the message highlighted by the organizing board of the annual contest, designed to promote tourism in its host countries.

From November 18 to December 10, 2022, contestants from all over the world toured Hanoi and Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Son La and Vinh Phuc provinces. The beauty pageant was warmly welcomed at each locality in a jubilantly festive atmosphere with various tourism promotion activities.

On the opening day of the Trang An-Ninh Binh Heritage Festival 2022, the contestants wore brocade costumes to join the variety show with Vietnamese artists. They also visited and posed for clips at scenic spots, such as the Trang An eco-tourism area and Bai Dinh Pagoda. The clips produced by beauty queens from Belgium, Thailand, Japan, and Siberia were chosen among the top 10 that will be used to promote tourism around the world.

“We were warmly welcomed by local people, you are very friendly. The scenery here is very beautiful in the mountains with rivers, there are pagodas on the mountain, all creating a mysterious and romantic picture. I would love to come back to this place to learn and explore more,” enthused Miss Tourism Tosin Adeduro from Nigeria at the Trang An eco-tourism site.

In Phu Tho Province, the beauty contestants visited the national monument of King Hung Temple and posed for pictures in national costumes, enjoyed the beautiful scenery, learned about the history of the 18 reigns of the Hung Kings. They also practiced making sticky-rice cakes (banh chung, banh day), participated in local folk singing (Xoan melody) and in other cultural activities in the province’s Hung Lo ancient village.

In Hanoi, the beauty contestants were taken to scenic spots, historical sites, culture and heritage relics, including the Tran Quoc Pagoda, Temple of Literature’s National Examination Court (Quoc Tu Giam), Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, Sword Restored (Hoan Kiem) Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and King Le monument.

Arriving in the northern mountainous province of Son La, the beauty queens immersed themselves in the Thai ethnic culture, participated in the performance of Thai swirl skirt jive (Xoe Thai), and wore chut Thai outfits to promote the uniqueness of Thai swirl skirt jive art.

Visiting Vinh Phuc Province, the contestants had a week to participate in environmental protection activities including tree planting and attended the ceremony announcing the "World's Leading Tourist Town" in 2022 organized by the People's Committee of Tam Dao District.

John Singh, Founder and President of Miss Tourism World, said the tour of Vietnam “achieved our goal of bringing Vietnam to the world and bringing the world to Vietnam. We hope that the contest viewers will know more about Vietnam, and that Vietnam can attract further investment from abroad.”

The top winner of the Miss Tourism World 2022 contest was Miss Japan, Erina Hanawa.
