According to VAECO’s leadership, this collaboration requires the company to meet stringent requirements of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and DLH. These include adequate facilities, equipment, personnel, and prior experience in performing similar periodic maintenance on A350-900 aircraft. Previously, in late 2023, VAECO underwent an EASA maintenance organization approval audit to qualify for performing base maintenance of A350-900 aircraft. DLH also sent experts to Hanoi to directly evaluate VAECO’s facilities and personnel.
In the early months of 2024, the company successfully carried out its line maintenance tasks amidst a surge in flight operations by both international airlines and Vietnam Airlines, especially during the 2024 summer peak travel season.
To achieve these results, VAECO’s line maintenance centers have allocated resources and flexibly arranged technical staff to ensure the timely repair of aircraft defects at various airports.
For base maintenance, VAECO has maintained early inspections and assessments of defects while flexibly allocating manpower to ensure the timely completion of periodic maintenance packages.

VAECO’s technical and periodic maintenance activities |
In the final months of the year, in addition to focusing resources on serving Vietnam Airlines and its customers during the 2025 Lunar New Year peak period, as well as special flights for Party and State leaders, VAECO continues to implement company-wide Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance labor productivity. The company is also expanding the capabilities of its Nacelle aircraft engine casing shop and applying for EASA approval.
At the same time, VAECO is preparing for the renewal audits of FAA/EASA certifications, reviewing and finalizing documentation for the Noi Bai Hangar No.3 project and the Long Thanh Hangar project to meet timelines. The company is also expediting the implementation of key investment projects to enhance maintenance capabilities.
VAECO’s goal in the coming years is to become a leading MRO service provider in the Asia-Pacific region, meeting market demands and aiming to offer maintenance services to 4- and 5-star commercial airlines worldwide. |
