Trung Nguyen breaks ground on Asia’s largest coffee factory

Vietnamese coffee producer Trung Nguyen held a ground-breaking ceremony for its new coffee factory at the Tan An Industrial Cluster in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province, on March 10.

The event came within the ongoing Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival framework.

This factory will be Trung Nguyen’s fifth in Vietnam and the second in Dak Lak, Vietnam’s coffee capital.

The project is a key initiative aimed at enhancing the value of Buon Ma Thuot’s robusta coffee, promoting advanced coffee processing in Vietnam, and contributing to the vision of transforming Buon Ma Thuot into the coffee city of the world and reinforcing Vietnam’s position as a global coffee powerhouse.

With a total investment of over 2 trillion VND (78.5 million USD), the project will be implemented in two phases, with the first phase valued at nearly 1 trillion VND.

The factory is expected to be Asia’s largest coffee production facility, equipped with state-of-the-art technology from Germany and Italy.

Spanning an area of 50,000 square metres, the Trung Nguyen coffee factory is designed as a sustainable eco-energy facility meeting net zero standards.

Dak Lak Vice Chairman Nguyen Tuan Ha stated that the establishment of the Trung Nguyen coffee factory will not only drive the development of the coffee processing industry but also create new opportunities, generate jobs, improve the livelihoods of residents, and make a significant contribution to the province’s economy.
