Prime Minister Le Minh Hung starts two-day official visit to Cambodia

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung arrived in Phnom Penh on Friday afternoon, starting his two-day official visit to Cambodia at the invitation of Cambodian counterpart Hun Manet.

He was welcomed by Cambodian Minister of Planning Bin Trachhai at the airport.

This is the Prime Minister's first official visit to Cambodia, which carries special significance, reaffirming the high priority that Viet Nam attaches to the relations with Cambodia.

It takes place four months after Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet's official visit to Viet Nam. There are ample rooms for two countries to expand cooperation, particularly in economic, trade, investment and tourism sectors.

Against the backdrop of complex and unpredictable global and regional developments, maintaining a peaceful and stable environment and strengthening cooperation with neighboring countries, including Cambodia, have become increasingly important.

A key focus of the visit is to advance the implementation of agreements and commitments reached by the senior leaders of the two countries in recent years.

During the visit, the Prime Minister and senior Cambodian leaders will engage in in-depth discussions on specific measures to promote bilateral cooperation across various fields, especially economy, trade, investment, education and training, human resource development, and people-to-people exchanges.

Both sides will also discuss preparations for the 60th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2017.
