At the event, Nguyen Huu Tuan, Director of the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development, shared an overview of Vietnam’s e-commerce legal framework. His presentation focused on the current regulations, conditions for conducting e-commerce business, obligations of sellers and platforms, common violations, and enforcement measures. He also updated attendees on draft provisions in the upcoming E-commerce Law to help businesses and creators clearly understand the legal landscape.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan emphasized: “Creativity is the key, but sustainability lies in ethics and compliance. Business ethics is the pledge of transparency with customers. Legal compliance is the foundation of a fair and transparent e-commerce environment. Understanding the law, tax obligations, and honest advertising are decisive factors for long-term credibility and growth.”

Also at the session, Mr. Tran Trong Ninh, Principal Officer of the E-commerce Tax Division (under the General Department of Taxation), engaged in a direct dialogue with sellers and TikTok Shop creators, addressing detailed questions on tax policies and obligations. He noted that such training programs not only provide timely updates on new policies but also enable local businesses and small merchants to apply them effectively.

From TikTok Vietnam, Nguyen Lam Thanh highlighted that the training reflects TikTok’s commitment to sustainable e-commerce in Vietnam: “TikTok Shop is not only a growth tool but also a partner with regulators, equipping sellers and creators with solid legal knowledge. Together with MoIT, we aim to build a digital generation that is both creative and legally savvy laying the foundation for a professional, trustworthy e-commerce ecosystem where consumers can shop with confidence.”

According to the organizers, the training series “Sustainable Business Starts with the Law” will be held quarterly, in both offline and online formats. The program is expected to deliver a dual impact: helping sellers operate effectively and legally, while strengthening consumer trust in e-commerce platforms.
