Major solutions to improving industry promotion

(VEN) - Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien has given directions related to five groups of solutions and tasks to develop industry promotion activities in the near future.

After 10 years of implementation, the Government’s Decree 45/2012/ND-CP on industry promotion has been highly rated by experts, localities and businesses for its practicality and effectiveness. This policy has contributed to the development of the rural industry in particular and the country’s industrial sector in general, the latter of which has gradually flourished since 2023.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien has highly rated the industry promotion achievements in recent years. He said the Party and the State have been promoting the country’s industrialization and modernization and building new-style rural areas to turn Vietnam into a country with a modern industrial sector by 2030, creating an important premise for Vietnam to become a developed country with high income by 2045.

The Minister has assigned key tasks to relevant units to get industry promotion in particular and the industrial sector in general to fulfill the above-mentioned targets.

- Firstly, continue to thoroughly study and comprehend the Party’s guidelines, policies, laws, and regulations related to the development of the rural industry.

- Secondly, localities should continue to allocate increased state funding for industry promotion and integrate industry promotion projects/programs with target programs in order to improve the efficiency of capital utilization; review, amend, supplement and/or issue new consistent, feasible and suitable mechanisms and policies of localities.

- Thirdly, strengthen innovation and digitization, and improve the quality of industry promotion; consistently implement industry promotion activities together with support programs for access to land, production and business premises, investment incentives, credit, and especially science and technology; and continue to promote the honoring and development of high-quality outstanding rural industrial products.

- Fourthly, strengthen and restructure industry promotion organizations, including maintaining industry promotion agencies as part of provincial and city departments of industry and trade.

- Fifthly, establish a mechanism for coordination and decentralization of authority among state management agencies from the local to the central levels.
