HCMC accelerates projects connecting it to Long Thanh Airport

(VEN) - Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) is urgently implementing projects connecting the city to Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai Province.

Accordingly, the HCMC People’s Committee has instructed the Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority to urgently mobilize human resources, equipment, materials, and machinery to accelerate the construction of key projects. These include the viaduct section in Thu Duc City under Component Project 1 of the HCMC Ring Road 3 project, and the An Phu Intersection project. Efforts are underway to ensure the completion of these projects before December 31, 2025.

Additionally, the Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority is coordinating with the Thu Duc City People’s Committee and relevant departments to commence construction on certain sections of the HCMC Ring Road 2 project, from Phu Huu Bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap Road, and from Vo Nguyen Giap Road to Pham Van Dong Road, before April 30, 2025, with completion expected in the second quarter of 2026.

The Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority is also working with relevant units to expedite the expansion of the HCMC - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway (the 4km section from An Phu Interchange to Ring Road 2), with the construction scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2025 and finish in the third quarter of 2026.

These key projects aim at enhancing connectivity between HCMC and Long Thanh International Airport.
