The Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025 is not only a large-scale trade promotion event but also an opportunity to stimulate commercial exchange, promote tourism and enhance the image of the Hanoi capital city.

A “new boost” for trade

The Vietnam Golden Autumn Fair 2025, is a key national trade promotion event organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, is considered a “golden highlight” in this year’s series of economic, cultural, and tourism activities in the capital. With what is seen as the largest scale ever, the fair gathers more than 2,500 businesses showcasing over 10,000 products across various sectors, from agricultural products, processed goods, and handicrafts to creative and high-tech items.

According to Vu Ba Phu, Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Fair is not only a meeting and networking platform between domestic and international businesses, but also an opportunity for Hanoi to reaffirm its role as the country’s hub of commerce, tourism and culture.

"Currently, around 300 international buyers have registered to attend through our trade office network, and we will be organizing direct trade matchmaking sessions for businesses during this event”, Vu Ba Phu shared at the press conference announcing updates on the Fair.

Director General Vu Ba Phu also expressed hope that the number of international visitors to Hanoi this autumn will rise significantly compared to previous quarters, driven by the appeal of the Fair. "When visitors learn about and attend the fair, it will contribute to promoting and building a positive image and brand not only for the event itself but also for Vietnam”, he emphasized.

During the time of the fair, Hanoi will also host around 100 heads of state attending the United Nations International Convention on Combating Cybercrime (a major diplomatic event taking place in the capital). According to Phu, the Fair presents a “golden opportunity” to showcase Hanoi as a dynamic, safe, friendly and modern city in the eyes of the international community.

It can be said that the Fair has created a “dual ripple effect”, simultaneously boosting domestic trade activities and increasing the number of international tourists to Hanoi. The event is expected to become an annual “trade-tourism rendezvous” for the region, thereby strengthening Vietnam’s position on the global economic and promotion map.

From trade fair to strategic stimulate for Hanoi’s culture and commerce

In partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the city of Hanoi has demonstrated its strong commitment to turning the Fair into a “comprehensive promotion platform”, a convergence point of trade, culture and tourism.

According to Nguyen Anh Duong, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, the Fair is not merely an economic event, but also a meaningful cultural activity tied to the preservation and promotion of the capital’s traditional values.

“Hanoi is committed not only to organizing events and trade fairs, but also to implementing a wide range of initiatives focused on the preservation, development, and promotion of traditional cultural values, including handicrafts, craft villages, and tourism”, affirmed Nguyen Anh Duong, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade.

“The city aims to promote traditional cultural products while also encouraging the development of high-value goods that can generate substantial revenue.”

According to Duong, following the Fair, starting in 2026, Hanoi will implement two strategic programs for the 2026 - 2030 period: the Industrial Promotion Program and the Trade Promotion Program. These initiatives are designed to establish a well-structured trade promotion network at both the domestic and international levels.

“Alongside event organization, the city places great emphasis on maintaining and preserving traditional crafts, as well as strengthening trade connections”, Duong added. “The ultimate goal is to promote and showcase Hanoi’s cultural products, while also advancing those with high economic value.”

In the context of Hanoi’s efforts to build a creative capital and a hub for international integration and cooperation, the Fair represents a strategic step toward realizing this vision. The event contributes to diversifying tourism experiences by linking commercial activities with the city's cultural and tourism spaces, thereby creating a value chain that connects products, visitors, and businesses.

Hanoi is gradually developing a “trade promotion ecosystem integrated with tourism”, where year-round trade fairs, cultural festivals and international events serve as driving forces for consumer spending and tourist attraction. When visitors come to Hanoi to attend a fair, they don’t just shop - they also experience local cuisine, arts, the Old Quarter and traditional craft villages, forming a distinctive cultural and economic rhythm unique to the capital.

In addition, the modern fair model - incorporating digital technologies from booth registration and B2B matchmaking to digital media promotion, enables businesses and visitors to interact more easily, quickly, and effectively. The application of technology in event organization not only enhances the quality of services but also brings Hanoi closer to its goal of becoming a “smart city” in trade and tourism promotion.

As such, the event is not merely an economic or commercial event - it stands as a symbol of Hanoi’s vision for sustainable development and global integration. From traditional handicraft stalls to high-tech product showcases, from the participation of local businesses to international corporations, all elements come together to paint a vibrant “autumn landscape” that reflects the dynamic intersection of economy and culture.
