Bac Giang Province enhances rural industrial development

About VND3.5 billion worth of industry promotion funding has been allocated for 18 projects in Bac Giang Province in 2024. They include 10 projects for demonstration model construction, technology transfer, and advanced machinery and equipment application; three projects for development of outstanding rural industrial products; one project to provide consultation and assistance to rural industrial establishments; two information projects; and two projects to enhance industry promotion management and implementation.

Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Director of the Bac Giang Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, said that in 2024, Bac Giang will prioritize the implementation of industry promotion projects as an important solution to promote rural industrial growth and achieve the local industrial development goals.

Bac Giang aims to fully reach national and provincial industry promotion targets. It will work with the people’s committees of districts and cities, and sociopolitical organizations to 1) survey producers’ investment need in order to build national and provincial industry promotion plans for 2025 for submission to relevant authorities for approval; and 2) to strengthen management, inspection and supervision of industry promotion projects.

The department will propose that competent authorities suspend or stop projects failing to meet industry promotion contracts’ requirements and/or infracting the regulations while working with beneficiary units to expedite project implementation, testing and operation.

Last year, Bac Giang fulfilled all national and local industry promotion plans for the province, helping 20 industrial producers apply advanced machinery and equipment to the production of precision mechanical equipment, wood grain steel doors, roller conveyors, product packaging, cordyceps, and canned produce for export.

Deputy Director Nguyen Van Phuong said industry promotion projects in the province are mainly found in fields at which the province is strong, such as production of farm, forest and seafood products for export, precision mechanical equipment manufacturing, new products of districts, and production of industrial wood-based interior and exterior materials.
