These enterprises operate in energy, construction, industrial processes, agriculture, forestry and land use.

To date, 2,166 enterprises shall have to carry out greenhouse gas inventory in accordance with decisions signed by the Prime Minister in an effort to implement Green Transition Strategy for 2021-2030 period, vision to 2050.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment estimated that Viet Nam's greenhouse gas emissions may reach about 399-449 tons by 2030.

The Government targets to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 17-26 percent by the end of this decade and around 90 percent by 2050.

The GHG inventory is a fundamental information for planning actions to curbglobal warming, enabling policy-makers tounderstand how much various activities in the society are contributing to global warming.
