Stringee

A “Make in Vietnam” communications programming platform

(VEN) - Stringee was one of the 10 best technology projects of the 2020 national festival for innovative startups (Techfest Vietnam) and one of the 12 “Make in Vietnam” digital platforms selected by the Ministry of Information and Communications to support small- and medium-sized enterprises in digital transformation.

High applicability

CEO Dau Ngoc Huy, COO Nguyen Ba Luan and CCO Le Trong Tuan founded Stringee in 2017. It is currently the largest communications programming platform in Vietnam with 2.2 million minutes of calls per day to more than 45 million users nationwide. Stringee allows businesses to communicate with customers on mobile phone apps or websites without the use of other apps, such as Zalo, Skype and Messenger. It also frees businesses of having to invest in building software with communications features.

Businesses can easily add features, such as chat, voice call, video call, video conference, SMS and contact center, integrating them into their existing mobile phone apps or websites based on the Stringee platform. Stringee is the only platform in Vietnam that can provide full features of chat, voice, SMS and video call without a third party. In particular, Stringee products are highly applicable and can meet the needs of businesses in many different sectors.

CEO Dau Ngoc Huy said Stringee’s business strategy is to make only one product, targeting medium and large customer portfolios. In addition, Stringee has freemium packages for programmers and students who want to use the platform to make a product demo, or fledgling startups.

After four years, Stringee has created great breakthroughs, providing digital transformation solutions in the communications field for more than 800 medium and large enterprises in the finance-banking and insurance industries, especially those on the Fortune 500 list. In addition to the domestic market, Stringee is aiming at the US and global market.

Successfully raising capital

In mid-2019, Stringee announced that it has completed a nearly US$2 million pre-Series A funding round, targeting to accelerate the development speed of Stringee products and strengthen brand identity in order to bring a Communication APIs solution to many businesses.

Despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Stringee revenues grew by 400 percent in 2020 compared to the previous year. This impressive growth was attributed to a video call eKYC solution (electronic Know Your Customer via video call). Since February 2021, Stringee has officially provided a video call eKYC solution for TPBank, Shinhan Finance and VNDIRECT, while many other banks are participating in a trial of the app.

In March 2021, Stringee received an investment from the Zone Startups Ventures. Matt Saunders, director of the Zone Startups Ventures, expressed his belief that Stringee will become one of Asia’s leading B2B SaaS (business-to-business Software-as-a-Service) platforms.

Stringee will continue to take advantage of its strengths as well as new capital sources to realize its goal of conquering the global market, while investing in research and development (R&D) to optimize products and develop new features.

National program 844 on initiative for startup ecosystem in Vietnam (ISEV) aims to create a favorable environment to promote and support the formation and development of innovative startups.
