
Nearly 79 million voters nationwide head to the polls on March 15

According to the National Election Council, by 4:00 p.m., a total of 71,392,498 out of 76,609,388 voters had cast their ballots, equivalent to 93.19%. By the reporting time, most provinces and cities had achieved voter turnout exceeding 95%, demonstrating a highly proactive and efficient voting process.

Among them, five out of 34 provinces recorded voter turnout close to 100%: Tuyen Quang (99.86%); Lao Cai (99.81%); Lang Son (99.30%); Dien Bien (99.23%); and Lai Chau (99.20%).
Eighteen out of 34 provinces reported voter turnout above 95%: Da Nang (98.71%); Ha Tinh (98.70%); Cao Bang (98.22%); Thai Nguyen (98.17%); Quang Ninh (98.08%); Son La (97.98%); Hue (97.86%); Vinh Long (97.77%); Ca Mau (97.76%); Dak Lak (97.44%); Quang Tri (97.38%); Can Tho (97.27%); Nghe An (96.92%); Gia Lai (96.42%); Phu Tho (96.27%); Quang Ngai (96.14%); Thanh Hoa (95.72%); and Ninh Binh (95.14%).
Nine out of 34 provinces recorded voter turnout above 90%: Hai Phong (94.88%); Khanh Hoa (93.93%); Dong Thap (93.92%); Lam Dong (93.32%); An Giang (92.61%); Bac Ninh (91.66%); Dong Nai (91.12%); Hung Yen (90.44%); and Hanoi (90.36%).
Two out of 34 localities recorded turnout below 90%. Tay Ninh reported a turnout of 89.95%. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City, which has the largest number of voters nationwide, had recorded 7,663,467 out of 9,569,117 voters casting their ballots by that time, equivalent to 80.07%.
Notably, in many localities, for elderly voters, persons with disabilities, and those who were ill and unable to travel to polling stations, election teams used mobile ballot boxes to facilitate the exercise of their voting rights.
Regarding the atmosphere of the election day, the National Election Council noted that voters across the country continued arriving at polling stations to exercise their rights and civic responsibilities. The atmosphere at polling stations was generally enthusiastic, orderly and serious.
Domestic and international media outlets have also intensively covered the election day, dedicating significant space to news reports, articles and images reflecting and updating election developments nationwide.
As of 4:00 p.m., statistics from the cyberspace monitoring center Reputa under Viettel Group showed that 5,261 news reports and articles about the election had been published across domestic newspapers, magazines, portals and specialized electronic sites.
Many international media outlets have reported on Vietnam’s election day, including Xinhua (China), Reuters (the UK), Bloomberg (the US), DW - Deutsche Welle (Germany), ABC News (Australia), Prensa Latina (Cuba), Al Jazeera (Qatar), AP News - Associated Press (the US), France 24 (France), RFI - Radio France Internationale (France), The Hindu (India), and Bangkok Post (Thailand).
