Vietnam - Malaysia Strategic Partnership

At the invitation of Dominican President Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona and his spouse, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse, accompanied by a high-level Vietnamese delegation, pay an official visit to the Dominican Republic from November 19 to 21, 2024. This visit holds significant importance as it marks the first official trip by a Vietnamese leader to the Dominican Republic, taking place ahead of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations (July 7, 2005 – July 7, 2025).

During his trip to Brazil from November 16-19 for the G20 Summit and bilateral engagements, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The two leaders agreed to elevate the Vietnam-Brazil bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership and issue a joint statement on the upgrade of the ties.

The elevated section of the pilot Nhon - Hanoi Station urban railway project has officially entered commercial operation, three months after its debut. This marks a pioneering step toward green transformation, laying the foundation for the capital's public and sustainable transportation development.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is leading a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to attend the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from November 16 to 19 at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

During his trip to attend the 2024 G20 Summit in Brazil from November 16 to 19, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will also take part in bilateral activities in Rio de Janeiro. The visit coincides with the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations (May 8, 1989 – May 8, 2024) and the 17th anniversary of the comprehensive partnership (May 2007 – May 2024) between Vietnam and Brazil, marked by a series of meaningful and diverse events.

On November 12, 2024, the National Assembly passed the resolution on the 2025 socio-economic development plan, prioritising growth based on macroeconomic stability, inflation control, and maintaining major economic balances. The resolution sets a GDP growth target of 6.5-7%, aiming to reach 7-7.5%.

Seven commodities of Vietnam posted an export value of over 10 billion USD in the first 10 months of this year, accounting for over 66.5% of the country's total export turnover.

Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong leads a high-level delegation to Peru for an official visit and to attend the 2024 APEC Economic Leaders' Week in Lima from November 12-16 at the invitation of Peruvian President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra. Since joining APEC in 1998, Vietnam has made significant contributions to APEC’s goals, actively proposing initiatives and fulfilling key roles.

Despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges from complicated and unpredictable global developments over the past 10 months, the Vietnamese economy has continued to record positive outcomes as the import-export turnover rose by 15.8%, whilst foreign arrivals to the country surged by 41.3%.

In recent years, the Vietnamese national brand has made significant strides. Vietnam has not only entered the Top 100 countries with strong national brands, but also led the world in brand value growth in 2019-2022 period.
