Vietnamese and Lao Industry and Trade Ministers visited Thanh Cong Viet Hung Factory in Quang Ninh, reaffirming cooperation in trade and industrial development.

On 7 November , on the sidelines of the 13th Vietnam - Laos Border Trade Development Cooperation Conference in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien and Lao Minister of Industry and Trade Malaythong Kommasith, together with delegations from both ministries, visited and worked at the Thanh Cong Viet Hung automobile factory of Thanh Cong Group (TC Group) one of the largest and most advanced industrial projects in northern Vietnam.

The delegation also included ambassadors, senior officials, and representatives from relevant departments and functional units of the two ministries, as well as local Departments of Industry and Trade and other provincial agencies. Representing TC Group were Vice Chairman Nguyen Toan Thang, Deputy General Director Le Do, and executives from the group’s subsidiaries.

According to Thanh Cong Group, the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory covers more than 36 hectares, with a designed annual capacity of 120,000 vehicles.

Expressing appreciation for Thanh Cong Group’s success in automobile manufacturing and assembly, the Director General of the Department of Manufacturing Industry under the Lao Ministry of Industry and Trade expressed a wish to learn from Vietnam’s experience and gain deeper understanding of the government and ministerial policies supporting this sector.

Le Do noted that in the field of automobile manufacturing and operation, the group has received substantial support and incentives from the Government of Vietnam, relevant ministries, and especially from the local authorities of Quang Ninh Province.

“We have received various forms of support and incentives related to taxation and land use fees. In terms of taxes, these include import duties on components and value-added tax (VAT) on imported parts, all enjoying preferential treatment under Vietnam’s current regulations”, Le Do emphasized.
