According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on January 19, at the Ministry’s headquarters, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang received a delegation of journalists from newspapers of communist parties, parties holding significant positions and influence in their respective countries, media outlets serving overseas Vietnamese communities, and international news agencies that have come to Vietnam to cover the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang stressed that the 14th National Party Congress is an event of exceptional historical significance, marking a major turning point in Vietnam’s development trajectory. The congress not only reviews and assesses the achievements recorded over 40 years of Renewal, but also sets out goals and a long-term vision, while adopting sound and decisive policies to usher Vietnam into a new era of development.
She noted that amid a rapidly evolving, complex and unpredictable global and regional environment in 2025, Vietnam, under the leadership of the Party, has achieved important and breakthrough institutional transformations. These include the issuance of nine strategic resolutions in key development sectors, the reorganization of development space, the rearrangement of administrative boundaries, and the rollout of a two-tier local government model.
Vietnam continues to stand out as a bright spot in the region. The country’s economic size has reached USD 510 billion, with growth exceeding 8%. Per capita income has climbed to nearly USD 5.000, exports have hit a record USD 800 billion, and more than 20 million international tourists have visited Vietnam. National defense and security remain firmly safeguarded, while the country’s international standing continues to be consolidated and elevated. These achievements, she noted, have been widely reported by international media and disseminated to the global community.
Against this backdrop, the Deputy Minister directed relevant units within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to create the most favorable conditions for international journalists to conduct their reporting during the congress, ensuring that the messages and outcomes of the 14th National Party Congress are conveyed to the international community in a positive, comprehensive and objective manner.
The Deputy Minister expressed the hope that the visiting journalists would have a successful working visit, personally witness Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements, and experience the country’s rich cultural and historical values, thereby further promoting Vietnam’s image among international partners and helping the world gain a clearer understanding of the country’s development path.
Expressing their appreciation for Vietnam’s warm and thoughtful reception, representatives of international media organizations and overseas Vietnamese community outlets said they were honored to be in Vietnam, directly experience the upbeat atmosphere among the people, and report on the major political event of the 14th National Party Congress.
They highlighted the significant achievements recorded over the past 40 years of renewal as vivid proof of the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, affirming that Vietnam stands as a compelling example of a country that has achieved successful development. The journalists extended their best wishes for the success of the congress and pledged to make every effort to report accurately and objectively on its contents and decisions. Through their coverage, they said, they aim not only to inform global audiences about Vietnam’s development, but also to help spread messages of peace, friendship and social progress worldwide.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang also answered a wide range of questions from journalists on Vietnam’s socio-economic development. Through reporters from overseas Vietnamese media outlets, she underscored the importance of the Vietnamese community abroad to the country’s struggle for national independence and its ongoing development.
The leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the hope that overseas Vietnamese communities would continue to accompany and support the people at home, making meaningful contributions to helping Vietnam and the Vietnamese nation move steadily toward a new era of strong, prosperous and sustainable development.
The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, scheduled to take place from January 19 to 25, 2026, in Hanoi, is widely expected to be a congress defined by long-term vision, one that will usher the country into an era of national resurgence and substantive breakthroughs.
