On August 25, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and President of the National Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire Patrick Achi visited and learned about production and business operations at Trung An Hi-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company in Thot Not ward, Can Tho city.

At Trung An Hi-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company, the delegation was briefed on the company’s establishment and development, as well as its rice production, packaging and export processes. The delegation also toured the company’s packaging line for export rice products.

Throughout its development, Trung An Hi-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company has sought to build a brand of high-quality and healthy Vietnamese rice. Under the message of “Vietnamese agricultural products establishing international standards,” Trung An has not only expanded its rice-growing areas but also invested in advanced technologies from the fields to the processing plant.

In trade, particularly rice, several Vietnamese businesses have established export networks in Côte d’Ivoire, including Trung An Hi-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company in Can Tho. The delegation’s visit to observe the company’s advanced processing technologies and key rice products is in line with Côte d’Ivoire’s interest in learning from Vietnam’s experience in increasing rice production and processing capacity.

Viet Nam currently produces around 45 million tonnes of rice annually, compared with approximately 2 million tonnes in Côte d’Ivoire, despite the two countries having comparable land areas. Agricultural products are among the key drivers of trade relations between Vietnam and Côte d’Ivoire.

Côte d’Ivoire is currently Viet Nam’s third-largest rice export market. In the opposite direction, Viet Nam imports cashew nuts, cotton and certain raw materials from Côte d’Ivoire, while exporting rice and a range of consumer goods to the market.

The delegation then visited a demonstration field featuring promising rice varieties for the 2026 Summer-Autumn crop. The President of the National Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also visited and worked with Can Tho Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Caseamex), a long-established enterprise specializing in the production, processing and export of pangasius in Can Tho city.

Caseamex’s key products include frozen pangasius fillets and value-added processed seafood products, which are currently exported to more than 50 countries and territories, including the United States, Canada, the EU, Brazil, Asian, and Middle Eastern markets. The plant has a processing capacity of approximately 150 tonnes of raw fish per day, a freezing capacity of around 10 tonnes per hour, cold storage capacity of about 5,000 tonnes, and a production line for value-added products with a capacity of approximately 20 tonnes per day.

The fact-finding visit provided an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to expand connectivity and export markets while further strengthening trade relations with Côte d’Ivoire.
