Unilever Vietnam receives dual awards at VCCI’s CSI 2021 and AmCham’s CSR Recognition Award

Today no business can independently operate. Every decision made by businesses has certain impacts on the society, the environment, their stakeholders, even their own reputation and long-term development. Therefore, sustainable development is an inevitable trend that draw businesses’ special attention.

Committed to the purpose of "Making sustainable living commonplace" throughout more than 25 years of operation in Vietnam, Unilever has been constantly making efforts to build and implement sustainable development programs under the Unilever Compass strategy for the sake of the planet’s health, people’s health and well-being, and a fairer and more inclusive society.

Thanks to those efforts, Unilever Vietnam was recognized Top 10 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam at CSI Program 2021 hosted by VCCI in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. It is the sixth consecutive year that Unilever Vietnam has received this noble title for the company’s unremitting efforts and committment.

In the framework of this year’s CSI Program, Unilever Vietnam was also honored in the Top 5 Outstanding Businesses with a commitment to gender equality at the workplace for the company’s efforts towards women's empowerment over several years. This is the first year CSI Program has made evaluation and compliments in specific aspects of sustainable business development.

The CSI Program has been held annually since 2015 with the participation of a wide range of businesses of all industries and sizes across the country. The program benchmarking is based on Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) that perfectly complements to the Enterprise Development Indicators annually announced by the Government on 13th October, opined Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue.

In addition to the remarkable achievements at the CSI Program 2021, Unilever Vietnam won AmCham’s 2021 CSR Recognition Award for the company’s efforts and activities in creating long-term economic and social values in Vietnam, especially the action and commitment to accompanying and assisting Vietnam and the Vietnamese people to overcome the challenging time due to Covid-19 pandemic, typically through the “Stay Strong Vietnam” campaign implemented by Unilever Vietnam in collaboration with the Ministry of Health at national scale.

AmCham’s CSR Recognition Award is held to honor business members that demonstrate an understanding of the linkages between business operations and society, aiming at creating economic and social sustainable development.
